A buddy of mine in the late 60's early 70's that lived on clay hill rd.......his sister dated a guy who had a custom built Super Bee.....is this the same one?
I wish more people shared your enthusiasm about my project! After all my hard work, I did'nt get much of a response from the Mopar community other then a comment here and there from a few people. Mopar Collectors Guide, who I thought would jump at this story just turned their noses up at the car like it was no big deal. Thanks for your comment. It means a lot to me!
@gomangojoe Hey dude, great video! Would you beleive I rode in your car back in 1972, when Butch Puliese owned it? I know Peter Prosio and Butch very well.
@gomangojoe Sorry to hear that. My respect for Mopar came from living in Aberdeen South Dakota which was Mopar country at the time. Great story about the car.
It's good to see Mopar get back into the performance game to shake up the Big Two. It's been far too long for Chrysler considering their legacy. The new Challenger will shake up the status quo and I tip my cap to Mopar for staying faithful to the original design. Something GM and Ford haven't done.
I figured you played by your ytube name. I play a little myself but I only have 4 guitars. I play for fun. It Keeps me Sane! Sometimes insane! Did you check out my steelheart videos?
I must admit, I did have my fun with the car and the garage. Unfortunatly life changes and you have to move on to the next part of your life. I ended up moving to AZ. and selling the car. To tell you the truth, every time I drove the car, It was a Magnet for bad drivers and A-Holes! And remember, one damaged panel on the car would turn into a nightmare to fix or replace. You can't just run down to the dealership for the parts. Buy a vintage guitar. It might be a better investment.
@gomangojoe i know what you mean about the magnet for bad drivers and a-holes. i felt the same about my mustang but then i realized i was the a-hole and everybody else was going too slow for me.
very nice.great work there i think.i bet it was a very interesting afternoon.i would like to own a charger too... cars and fuel are so expensive in germany xD
Yes it was a celebration. 4 Years of Hard work to bring the Charger back to show room condition. And the really cool thing is that almost all of the registered owners that used to "beat On" the car were in attendance to tell stories of when they owned the car!
Last post Joe I promise! Your V-code 70 R/T Charger has the accent stripes coming off of the door scoops like my 70 R/T does except yours are black and mine are white. My car had some decent options. Driver's side 6-way seat, tic toc tac, 11 inch heavy duty power drum brakes, AM radio, rear speakers with rear speaker fader, power steering, AC, full woodgrain dash and the woodgrain steering wheel. Also, my car is a bucket seat buddy seat car since its column shift from the factory. See ya Joe!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The really cool thing about having all the owners was that you have a time line of who did what to the car. The stories were great too. One guy lost his apartment and used to live in the car for a while. There were even kids conceived in the back seat. The car was a big part of my life for 10 years. Unfortunatly I sold it a couple of years ago. Yes I am sorry I sold it! Hang on to your Mopars!
I also have a December 1969 date coded 354 Dana 60 thats going into my 1970 R/T as well Joe. My car would have never had one of course being a 440 HP automatic AC car but it will look cool in there anyway. Its still got the original 8 3/4 out back but somebody took my 323 Sure Grip and replaced it with a good ole dog leg! My car is B5 blue with a B5 blue interior. White vinyl top and the white accent stripes coming off of the door scoops for the stripe option. No hood pins or V21 hood treament.
That is such a cool video Joe. I wish I could have a get together of former owners like that with my 1970 Charger R/T when it gets restored. That won't ever happen though. I know the people I got it from but owners prior to that are unknown. I know it came from Houston at some point. My original 1970 440 HP BB 727 drivetrain is long gone. I have a complete date code correct 1970 440 HP motor for it. My fender tag got legs and walked off as well. No build sheet either. I own 35 old Mopars total.
NEAT VID AND IDEA AND CAR i HAVE THE EXACT CAR , IT IS A BASKET CASE BUT I HAVE GETTING NOS PARTS FOR YEARS NOW THEY MAKE FULL QUARTERS SO IN READY TO GO.
I was moved as I watched this Video Not because I'm a depressed. I did a partial Resto and couldn't finish before My 1964 Dodge 2 Dr was Stolen. A known unscrupulous Towing company in Bedford Hills NY Removed it, 3 yrs work in that car alone to have it stolen while I was in Hospital. I found it and called to get it returned but the cost was so high It took Me 3 weeks of work just to get the cash. I approached Pete He told Me He sold it HE NEEDED THE ROOM. it's the last I saw of My 1964 Dodge.
I'm Sorry to hear about your car. You certainly know how I feel now not knowing where it is or what became of it. Just don't let your loss ruin your life! If it is meant to be, the car will come back to you. I was supposed to buy this Charger in High School from my cousin back in 1977. Another friend bought it out from under me. Fast forward 20 years and when I least expected it, the car miraculously and unexpectedly appeared. "Carma Man," "Carma"
Great car and great story. I envy you. There are 3 '70's in storage near me and I'm trying to get hold of one that is an original 440 six pack/pistol R/T #'s matching. Never been restored but it's straight and clean. They made less than 300 of them and she may get rid of it for $12,000. It's Petty blue now but was b5, black int. That's my dream and next year I might have my vid on here like you did. Thanks for the inspiration.
It's amazing to see the history of 1 car and also to find the original owners(most of them) and have a reunion.Thats awesome, the car is immacualate great vid
Thanks for the comment. I thought it was a great idea but it did'nt seem to impress the car community that much. I had dreams of Jay Leno having me on his show with all of the original owners. Oh Well.
hey,..i think you had a great idea,..restore the car, and make an interveiw with all the original owners,...i think your idea would make for a good tv show,..like on speedvision or something like that...great charger btw.
Restoring the Charger is a great thing you have done! I remember riding in that car back in 1972! I know Butch Puglese and Peter Prosio very well. Vinnie Caruso
Just imagine how many people you would have to contact to cover all of the owners of some of our Chargers. I have reached the last two owners of my 70 Charger 500, the second one being the guy who bought it because it was flawless, with the intention of using the body to restore his 440 6-pack park. Fortunately, it sat undriven for about 12 years before I got ahold of it.

This cars story is one of my ultimate favorites. I read this one over and over and never get tired of it. Classic 1970 RT literature.
