It's like your mom gives you a letter she says is written to you from your real father, and the letter is all crazy-sounding and it says "I love you and you should love me back or I'll come find you and torture you" but you know your mom is kind of a liar so you're not even sure this is from your real father. How would you feel about this guy? Would you love him? Would you even consider him a part of your life? Or would you just put the weird letter away and go have fun with your friends?
Almost a year since I commented on here; but people continue to comment on my old rants. Over the year I have come to realize my ignorance in trying to force, what I believe to be true, on individuals that do not share the my faith; for my actions I apologize. Christians are to present the gospel and move on. For people on here that want to know what the true gospel is: 1. Accept Christ as your Savior 2. Ask for forgiveness for any wrong doing (sins) 3. Love your neighbor as yourself.
@stephenlleeds This was not to excite any atheist in here.... good luck in all you do and if any one has questions about the gospel let me know. I will NOT reply to derogatory comments OR engage in debates; I believe in Christ, you don't, we agree to disagree =)
@stephenlleeds You refusing to respond to comments that question your baseless faith or engage in debates with people who challenge you to defend it is a sure sign of your mental weakness. Oh how the meek have fallen. A year ago you wouldn't shut up until everybody agreed with your ridiculous fantasies, and now you merely want a friend to share them with. I'd pity you if I didn't find your dishonesty absolutely contemptible. Now for what I hope is the last time, GO PEDDLE YOUR VOODOO ELSEWHERE!
@CommanderC4 HELLO C4, and glad you took the time to comment. You are correct, I did try to force my view on you, and I apologize for that. God bless and good luck with all you do =)
You are weak and a pussy, you are afraid to believe in God. Why do you insist god is not real if this supposedly 1 life is so important? tell me dumbass.
@madmaster333 This one life is so important precisely because there is no God. We face the reality that this is all we have, and we try to make the best of it. Do you think it's emotionally simple to reject the possibility of eternal bliss? If I were afraid, I would latch onto the idea of heaven like an addict onto cocaine. No human being with any rudimentary sense of costs and benefits would do otherwise.
There is fear in a belief in heaven. There is courage in the rejection of heaven.
Another thing. Your caller was right that we are not fit to judge but Scripture states that if you don't accept Jesus as your savior than you will be in hell. This is the way it is because Scripture is God's word, it is the only document we have from him. If God is all powerful, all knowing, and he created everybody like is proclaimed in the Gospel, how can we even come close to questioning his methods or judgments. Does a table constantly question the carpenter that made it?
@sabin97 As I said before, we are already defined as a created being by our creator. It doesn't matter if we have the ability to define ourself or not. Any attempt at defining ourselves contrary to how we actually are is just not a true definition. Rom. 1:21
@TheGuitarman37 Circular reasoning. You're saying because there was a creator, we are created; and because we are defined as created, we have a creator. Your definition of "how we actually are" is unsupported.
@YaleBreaker I'm told through Scripture there is a creator, I don't reason there is one although I believe it could be reasoned. I'm also told how we actually are through Scripture.
@YaleBreaker Personally I don't think I could come to that conclusion by myself because of my sinful heart, but Scripture says we should be able to. Rom 1:19-20, Rom. 2:14-15.
I'm not sure where you get your idea that we are all basically good. Besides all of the wars, genocides, and general selfishness, I take an inside look for a reminder. I've never done drugs, not a heavy drinker and I've been sitting in the pew my whole life. I'm a monster, all I think about is myself. I am constantly objectifying women, I lie, I steal, I manipulate people just to get what I want. I am fucked up and deserve hell just like everyone else. But salvation is not merit based. Rom. 7:15
and yet you'll probably never do anything even remotely as wicked as what YHWH did in the old testament. genocide, mass infanticide(yes, murdering innocent babies en masse), ordering murder pillage and rape, endorsing slavery(slavery = owning another human being as property), the brutal beating of slaves(as long as they dont die in a few days you're ok), etc.
i dont know you, but i'd guess you would never do any such things. so you're already better than YHWH :)
@yankwilliams Wait . . . so you're claiming that you can actually speak in a language you don't understand? Fascinating! And how is it you came to know that you're speaking in a language and not all gibberish? Or does that mean that all infants speak in tongues before they actually know a language? I am quite intrigued by this notion.
@yankwilliams He was actually studying to become a preacher when he decided he was no longer a believer. And if you watch the show more, you'll find out that he has an amazing grasp on the Bible and can just about always out-Bible the fundamentalists who call up the show.
@yankwilliams Matt has made many mentions of his personal experiences that helped him believe in god when he was a christian, his becoming an atheist is a result of his investigation into the history of his beliefs as well as his studying of the bible, when you take a good hard look into Christianity you'll realize how fucked up it really is
Why would anybody want to go to heaven anyway? Any movement would be a struggle, so you would have to sit there and literally do nothing. Thinking is a struggle, so you wouldn't be able to think. If heaven were real, would you really want to go and live there eternally doing nothing? Wouldn't that be more torture than hell? I believe so.
This is by far the best succesfull show on youtube. Thumbs up dilahunty great reply. Hopefuly the humanity will finaly through that stupid bible book in the bin, wash their faces and get more responsible in this realistic life we live.
I fucking LOVE this:D Xians criticize atheists (and non-Xians in general) for refusing to acknowledge that they're sinners, and then dump THEIR "sins" on Jesus (or an animal, in the olden days).
They criticize humanism for being anthropocentric, yet they live in a universe created for THEM (even the trillions of cubic light-years that are empty or unreachable) by an all-powerful being who loves THEM above all others and wants to spend eternity with THEM.
Since humans stepped out of the caves, we were constantly expanding our circle of love to include more people. We now reject genocide, racism and incest, things common centuries ago. We're in a crucial point in our development. Becoming completely spiritual by rejecting all selfish instincts and materialism is the next step. Rejecting Jesus, which represents 100% love, as a role model, is a step back for our consciousness. The time has come to raise our consciousness to the next level. Wake up!
Matt,,,thought you knew your bible so well...As it is written there is none righteous, not even one! Rom 3;10. Christ shed his blood for the remission of sins,,,Matt!!!!

This is such a wonderful rant. It's amazing how hard it is to get these folks actually admit to someone what they actually think. It's like it makes sense to them right up until it needs to come out of their mouth. Once in a while I am able to take a step back and look at just how outlandish these claims are. Even as someone who doesn't believe personally, I've been in the culture long enough that it doesn't strike me as immediate lunacy.
If there's a hell, you probably go there for hurting other people, not for not accepting a list of statements that was translated through several languages and epochs from a document that was written down thousands of years ago from a bunch of oral traditions that were stolen and borrowed from neighboring tribes.
YOU made the choice to turn your back on God; but whats worse is YOU make a program to drag other people down with you. If you choose not to bow to your God, that is your decision. But dont try and bring other people down with you.
