  • I have shared this video with many that I know, Kristie. In addition, I purchased the how-to video off of your Etsy site. We loved it!! I am such a slow learner when it come to knitting and your video actually made me feel like I knew what I was doing. Also, we love your dream angels site. Thank you for all you do, please, don't stop! It is such an encouragement to me, and I know many others.

  • @laurenruns Thank you so much! This note totally makes my day :) This has always been my favorite Youtube video of the ones I made and I really tried hard to make the instructional "sister" fun and easy to understand. Thank you for taking the time to let me know how you feel. It really means a lot to me. It is comments like this that keep me going :)

  • Kristie:

I don't know how I missed this video. It's production and music is wonderful! I will pass this on to a friend who likes unicorns. They are beautiful.

What age do Waldorf schools start kids out with needle knitting? My daughter will turn 6 in a couple of months. I don't know how but would like to learn with her.

  • Would you direct us to a pattern? Thank you! Fun video! Also, how did you tie on that shell horn?

  • Weaving wonder with wool. Such a fun fantasy, to watch a unicorn come into being.

  • adorable. I am learning to finger knit at the moment and I will to learn knitting. I am so excited to learn to because I can tell that I will love it! :)

what a fun video and your treasures are so lovely.

    thanks!

  • Thank you for leaving such nice comments. Thank you for watching :) - Kristie

  • tis my pleasure... :)

  • That was great! I've knitted that same horse before, but for some reason can't really figure out how to securely sew on the mane the way you did. Would you please share how you did that?

    Thanks!

  • The mane is difficult to get to look "full" and not "contrived" so what I do is I unwind and VERY LONG strand of yarn and I keep looping it through the middle of the back over and over, down and down until I get to the lower back. On the right side I enter the needle slightly left of middle and when I am doing the left side mane I enter the needle slightly right of middle so the two sides overlap and there is not an unattractive "line" down the middle. Hope that helps. - Kristie

  • Thanks Kristie, I have a horse here waiting for a mane, so I will give it a try. Your unicorns are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

  • On another note, you could slow down that video as a tutorial for eager unicorn-makers who visit your site. =-)

  • The tutorial is about 30 minutes long and a bit long for Utube but I can send a pattern to anyone who wants it.

  • These are gorgeous! I just saw your post on natural mama barter and wanted to come check it out. Great job mama! How do you get the seashell to attach? Is there a hole in it?

  • Thank you for your feedback. To get the horn in I leave a small hole at the top. Then I use a shell with a big lower part and insert it from the inside of the head so it "stops" when it gets to big to go out the hole. Then I sew the hole closed with yarn to secure it even more and pack stuffing around it too.

  • Very nifty, Kristi! thanks
