Super instrument incredibly well restored and regulated. I think I have to change my mind about my favorite instrument, ,Of course the arrangements help. Please tell me the circumstances of the instrument lost at sea on the way to Japan. When did this happen and How? thanks for wonderful video.
These instruments are so rarely in tune, but this one blew me away! Bless you for saving this remarkable machine. And I'd love to know who the restorer is- his skill is obviously very great. From one organ builder to another- Bravo!
Do you have a list of all the different pieces of music in this melody? I tried searching for "From ear to ear" and did not find anything. I would love to hear each individual piece. I would eventually like to try to arrange at least some of this melody for a small concert band.
1.34 "Dawn" comp. 1925 by the prolific popular music composer Herbert Stothart (1885 - 1949) and featured in the early sound musical movie "Golden Dawn" (1930).
WOW, this is a fantastic orchestrion. I could bathe my ears in this music all day long. From the collections I have visited, I thought these orchestrions only played classical music. But here one is playing popular music of the day. GREAT.
Beautiful restoration of this Helios III/42 orchestrion! I first read about this instrument when I was young through some old AIG catalogs I was given by a friend of the family who used to work there.
Of course, I wondered how this instrument was supposed to sound for ages. It wasn't until several years later that I heard a recording of a Helios, and not until even later that I heard one in person! (so far I've only heard 3 in person). Thanks for posting this video!!!

What a treat! Undoubtedly the best recording of a Helios that I have ever heard. What a fantastic job of restoration that guy has made.
