because they probably use different language to talk about breeding in Kenya, just because they can speak english dosn't mean that they know all scientific words as well
Definately the best Fainting/Myotonic Goat vid yet! But I'm kinda confused why these guys don't know anything about genes. I would think they'd have some resources to inform them of how to sustain their herds with good breeding and such.
White man: " Wayll, i rekun i had me some moonshayne one nayght, ayund was bamboozled by my own mine, had sex with one'm dem thur Goats mama's, god blayss her soul".
I wish everyone would stop going on about "cureing" these goats. It cannot be cured. It's called selective breeding. These animals were bred with the characteristic of fainting. Farmers used this trait to protect their herds from predation. Sounds kinda cruel I know, but the goats were placed in with more "valuable" animals so that the predators would get them and not the other livestock. It took years of breeding to get this trait and it's not something that can be "cured".
This is a little disturbing that we eat such things with genetic disorders as such. I think our reactions should be more inline with the Kenyans. Why would you eat such a thing? It only appears in domesticated goats so it's something that humans obviously introduced into the genetics somehow. I love the response of a cure...meaning lets pump something else in them to cure them from something that most likely should have been prevented in the first place. I'll think twice before ordering :)
Does anyone know if there is a scientest or someone working on a cure for their genetic disorder? I don't think it's nice to them to not at least try to cure them. If we had this disease, we would want it gone. Lets do the same for these animals, and give them a brighter future.
@deadlykillernerds Cancer is an inherited gene, everyone has it, it's only activated when you introduce elements into your body that shouldn't be there, too much sunlight uv rays, smoke, and chemicals mutate the cell. The cure is, take care of your body, and if you get cancer it is treatable. There is no "cure" for cancer, because it's not a virus, it's a disease. Even if there was a cure, it's more profitable to sell treatments and pills and keep cancer around...But goats we can do...
I wanna see the whole episode, these dudes are fantastic. The Hyenas would just laugh at these Fainting Goats, joke with each other how it wouldn't be food. The mother Hyena would get mad and spoil the fun by telling them to stop playing with their food
@richardkentrbk it's a series on the discovery channel titled taking on new york. if u look on their website they have a few more videos. i haven't been able to find entire episodes anywhere though :(
I love this series! The "guys" are so sweet, and the situations are amusing... I have laughed myself to tears on more than one occasion watching the NYC and TX adventures! ... I appreciate the contrast between Africa and the US being discussed by them... This is a wonderful program! :D
@octiopi I didn't see your request until now. If you haven't seen the Kenyan Texas cheerleaders video, google "Kenyan Texas cheerleading" and you'll find it right there in Nat Geo.
haha i love this. those guys are so funny. i love their reactions to the goats cuz its true, if u hadnt heard of them before and u eat a lot u'd prob. react the same. they are good sports. funny guys haha. this clip is great :D
@fpsraab I saw these guys for the 1st time this morning. Hilarious. I saw them on a cattle drive this evening on NatGeo TV ('Two Kenyan Guys") so, there must already be a "series" on these two. Has to be great TV!
@Maniakq1: That's not actually a bad reaction to seeing something like that. After all, the gene has to be expressing itself somehow in the goat. If it's just extra muscle that gets confused when startled, then that's one thing...if it's some kind of enzyme that causes the confusion, it could be passed along in the food. If they bought the goat, then they'd be taking the farmer's word for it. Skepticism isn't just a western attitude. Meanwhile it's good fun in the meeting of cultures.
