  • I'm having this surgery in June and I have been watching a lot of recovery videos. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story. It was very helpful to me and gave me a lot of confidence for mine! I'm glad yours went so well and it's amazing to see that you can do a back bend!

  • i have scoliosis, luckily its a c curve and hasn't progressed and gotten worse. I was diagnosed before i can remember i dont remember an appointment where i haven't been checked. luckily i haven't needed a brace or a surgery. i feel lucky it hasn't gotten worse. :)

  • I have scoliosis too but only 24- 26 degrees. I am 20 years old, my doctor said it wont be so helpful anymore because im too old for braces and im not growing anymore.hmmmmmmmm i dont know what to doooo

  • @gelalehmann go to several chiropractors. maybe someone can improve your back. my friend 26 was almost straighten up after few months (don't know what was his curvature).

  • Hey I also had scoliosis.but i got it corrected now i 'm better than ever! God Bless You!!!!!

  • This was my favoriete ALL TIME scoliosis videoo . (well the old one that got deleted ;p) I used to always wach it before I had surgery. It helped me so much ! . It's been almost 2 years since i've had surgery . & im doing very well:P thanks for such an amazing video(:

  • I just got told I have or kinda at least the doctor wasn't very clear but it came up a lot and my x ray looked similar. After watching this video I feel so much better knowing that if it does get worse I have an option that will give me back a normal life. Thanks :)

  • what are you doing in the pic at 1:04?

  • @EmandMir They were taking her blood so they could save it and use it during the surgery. Unfortunately her veins collapsed and she was unable to do that. They recycled her blood during the surgery instead.

  • thank you , :)

  • Hi , i'm Allie and i have scoliosis my back is at a 45-47 degree i most likely will be getting the surgery this september coming up and im so nervous and scared but your video did help and im glad your surgery went well

  • @alliebabiieex I'm glad the video helped!! good luck with your surgery!! stay strong!

  • Hi! I am 15 and getting my surgery in 29 days (yay!) and I am getting it done at Sickkids Hopsital in Toronto. I just wanted to know - did Lindsay have any numbness anywhere and if so, has it faded/gone away? Thank you so much, I hope your family is doing well! :)

  • @flowers21xoxo She has numbness where the scar is but it's not bothering her :-) good luck with your surgery!!!

  • hi :) , im 13 and i had scoliosis too, it wasnt as severe as yours, my curve was only about 48 degrees, but it was a tough time for me. i just wanted to say that i really like your video, its very inspiring, and im glad your surgery was a sucess. i have a video also about my own surgery. its on my channel if you ever want to watch it. :) keep going strong though!

  • hi lindsay!! i also have scoliosis. i started bracing about 10 months ago. but even with the brace, its still growing pretty fast. at my last appointment, my curve went from 33 degrees to 46 degrees. my doctor didnt even recomend surgery he just wants to continure bracing, but in a way i kind of want the surgery. so my question for your is, was the surgery worth it? how bad is the pain afterwards? should i try to get the surgery? is there any advice you could give me?

    thanks so much!

  • @loveyou12178 ~ Hi this is Lindsay's mom :) Lindsay never regretted the surgery she said despite the pain it was totally worth it and would do it again. She is heading to university in the Fall to become a nurse!!! Doctors like to do the surgery as a last resort. IF you are still growing the doctor may want to wait to see if it will straighten... Lindsay's got a lot worse in a short time as well so our doctor recommended surgery sooner than later... all doctors are different.

  • damn girl, i had surgery a year ago and it sucked so much XD, im a guy which is kinda rare to get scoliosis but ya, really pretty picture at the end there ;)!

  • My surgery is tomorrow!! :)

  • Hello, I'm Alejandra and I'm from Mexico, also I have scoliosis and I had surgery in June 2009 before it saw the video of the operation of lindsay and gave me much encouragement, now I am happy to see more recent photos and see is fine. I like to talk to her or something, I feel very happy that we shared experiences.

  • @aleholmos I'm so glad that you found encouragement from her video!! that is so exciting!! Lindsay is really busy with finishing up her schooling and applying for universities where she hopes to go into the medical field!!

  • @camerashy1967 wow! I thought I would not answer! thanks! Well, I just like to know how Lindsay made to recover flexibility? I'm still afraid to bend my back, did some exercise special? is that I feel very identified with it, in fact a friend told me that we seem to physically hear and you're his mom? well, I would like you to give him my regards and congratulations, in fact I'm going to study medicine!

  • @aleholmos excuse my bad English, I used the translator, I speak little English, but I read the comment above and many things are misunderstood, sorry!

  • hi :) im getting surgery next month and im super nervous. my back is low 60's on top and highs 40's on top. im 15. im wondering.. did she have any pain at all? by the time she woke up and further? and did she throw up at all? haha i hatteee throwing up and i want to do all i can to not. :) thanks

  • @holly15966040 I'm not going to lie to you ... it was very painful after surgery but the meds they give you help a lot. With in a short time Lindsay was pain free and living a normal life. She never threw up... I hate that too!!! lol

good luck with the surgery... remember a positive attitude and support from family and friends helps!!!

  • i have scoliosis too and im 15. may i ask what degrees were the bends in here back. i here that they operate above 45-50 degrees. im really worryed because the degrees of turn in my back is 57...please reply

    thankyou

  • @sillylewis1 Lindsay had a 60 degree and a 58 degree curve. Our doctor said they usually operate above 45 degree as well. Don't worry... make sure you have a good doctor who will advise you on what is best for your situation.

  • @camerashy1967 thanks. well i live in the uk and have been refered to a sepcialist in oxford so i am in good hands. thanks

  • @6969jezza Lindsay said she was really out of it... they give you lots of pain killers.

  • I had to give up my dream job and doing stuff and the doc wont do anything but make me to physio...I was born with it but I'm sure it got worse After I fail in gym class...Is there anything you would recommend for me...And the scar did it go away after a while?

  • @miniteen59 Lindsay scar is barely noticeable. Surgery is not for everyone but it worked for Lindsay and she is doing amazing. If you are close to Toronto you may want to consider going to see Dr. Missiuna at McMaster in Hamilton. He is an amazing surgeon.

  • I'm 18 years old and I was diagnosed with scoliosis back in march 09 but my parents didn't tell me till about september 09,,,It took me frommarch 09 to april 2010 to see a specialist in toronto for it...I seen the xrays and it looks like yours..I almost cried...but all the doctor told me to do is physio...seeing this video made me cry cause seeing you doing those backbends and I had to give up alot cause of this scoliosis

  • i tend to have surgery a lot and i hate it but you did great, congratz :) you just gotta keep smiling through the pain, thats the keyy!

  • I also liked lindsey scoliosis the long on but this one is really good to

It was the bravest day of my life . and the best decision i ever made . I was scared , ofcoarce . But i will never regret having it . It was a big success and a big change in my life . I'm glad Lindsey is doing well(: god bless the scoliosis survivors(:

  • I love watching these. I commented on your other video a few months ago about me having surgery. it's been 3 months since my surgery now. :)

    I'm really happy i did it. :)

I'm really happy Lindsay is doing well!!!<3

  • @webkinzlover4ever900 I remember you from the comments!! I'm glad you are doing well!!!

  • i watched so many of these but one thing I can't get is when people say I was diagnosed with scoliosis (on some kinda day) do they mean i went to the doc's and found out that day? or i had a perfect spine and one day woke up with it curved? please answer!!!! Hope ur doing well

  • @KarinasPets we never checked Lindsay's spine....it happened over a period of a year or more but we never noticed until one day we went to the family doctor and asked about this 'bump' on her back. He asked her to bend over and told us she had scoliosis. From there he did x-rays and sent us to Dr. Missiuna... the rest is the story shown in the video
