That's funny. I guess Kam send Jonathon most of their stuff to review / demo / try out. They figure he get a lot of hits so why not? Other companies should jump on the bandwagon too ... send them to me and I will review them ;-) ... long term of course.

Unfortunately they take time to warm up and reach full brightness, so they have to be left on - no switching your lights by using the mains switch as some DJs do.

Hey!!! Those Kam DJ lighting effects have the same design as the Martin CX and MX range. Also they all most have the same gobos as well.

I borrowed some very expensive moving heads from a friend and they had the discharge lamps in.
Very bright, more efficient and more robust.
People are put off though becuase of the higher cost of a discharge bulb compared to a halogen. They really are worth the extra £.

is there a difference between discharge and hallogen???
djtavi77 3 years ago
Yes, Discharge lamps have an arc that makes the electricity jump across, halogen bulbs have a filament. (I learned this from Jonathan)

Discharge are better, no filament means less replacements =]

Discharges are also MUCH brighter. You can fine them in many high-end moving heads.
