  • You, good sir, are amazing. Nobody else seems to know how to explain the loop properly. Thank you, now I can finally wear the bow tie I just bought.

  • @glcollison2 Thank you and I'm glad that you can now dawn the distinguished look. Congrats! Keep up the good work.

  • Holy smokes. I really wanted to go for this look, and i didn't want to do a clip on, but after 100 tries with other videos I was beginning to think I had made a serious mistake. I honestly had my return receipts ready. I watched 20 other videos and couldn't get it down. I watched yours once and now I can do it blindfolded. Thank you so much. You are the man.

  • @hfclfe Thank you and glad you didn't give up.

  • Finally got it on my third try! I've watched so many how to videos and this is the best! thank you!

  • @JBiggsification You're welcome, thanks for not giving up!

  • Best how to tie a bow tie video by a mile!

  • @chrisdflack Thank you kindly!

  • I REALLY APPRECIATE THIS!!!! NOW I CAN GO TO WORK IN STYLE!!

  • @XyloMan24 Kill'em softly!

  • I learned this in like 15 mins. THANK U SO MUCH!

  • @frenchfrie3105 You're quiet welcome

  • Bar far the best vid. I actually did it the second time around. And every time since then...bravo!

  • @kingjames80s CONGRATS!!

  • Well done. The bow-tie is coming back. I feel like I have just been hit with some knowledge. I feel smarter now. Today has been a good day.

  • by far the best video that actually taught me how to tie a bow tie.

  • the only video that helped

  • Oh my god, THANK YOU! I had been watching so many vids, and using the instructions my bow tie came with to tie this...but NOBODY pointed out the loop like you did. Or, if they did, they didn't show it to me, so I had no idea what they were talking about. But you just showed everything, nice n simple. And I'm now wearing my tied bow tie. Thank you!

  • @TacoOnABoat You are welcome! Congratulations...show off the bowtie skills now.

  • Fantastic,

  • i been watching bow tie vids for awhile and you had the best one, start to finish!

  • I still can't figure it out!!!!!

  • @aacourtland What part are you getting stuck?

  • This helped me so much. I'm on my debate team, and those with bow ties are almost always more intimidating in an argument.

  • @gotchigotchi14 I'm glad now you can intimidate also. Best of luck on your debate team and get that education.

  • Very nice..What size bow tie is that (the wings of the bow tie) I know they come in all different sizes i just purchased one that is the 2.5 inch online but im wondering if that is too big. Also I want to use for work but am unsure if appropiate, please help :) thanks.

  • @jimmyd2425 The average size bow tie is the 2 1/2 in. You can also go with a slim 2 1/2 in but it is best worn with small stripes and solids. The 3 1/2 in is considered the Big & Tall size. I hope that helps.

  • Very good teaching. Not too much information, not too little. Not too fast, not too slow.

  • @paule11 I sincerely thank you!

  • i learned with your help. thank you.

  • @royalflipskater Congrats and wear them proudly!

  • @TheSilverback07 oorah!

  • @royalflipskater Ooooorah!! Semper Fi !!

  • @BOJANGLES356 Thank you and Semper Fi!!

  • AMAZING TUTORIAL!!!!!THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • @dandandan365 Thank you and please feel free to share.

  • I just spent the past hour looking for videos that'll help me, but this is the ONLY one that got me to actually understand how to do that last step when you put the back end of the tie through that small hole in the back. Thanks Man!

  • @Derral147 I'm glad you got it. Share with family and friends.

  • Very nice tutorial, got my first bow tie yesterday and you did a great job showing how to properly tie it. Thanks

  • @geekpimpfx You are welcome and enjoy bow ties from now on.

  • Got it on the first try, unlike others! Thank yu so much :)

  • @ImLizTho Congratulations!

  • the MOST helpful bow tie video by far! Thanks

  • @KennethPHX13 Thank you, I'm glad it helped.

  • I somehow found this mildly erotic long before 1:06

Very nice, simple tutorial by the way.

  • This is the best bow tie tutorial out there.

  • @vintagepremoon Thank you!

  • Very good post. Came in very handy.

  • @blaggat1 Thank you and I'm glad.

  • Thanks so much for posting, if u check out the video I posted (green shirt tie i'm the director) you will see the results of your video LOL, thanks again .

  • @fivestringlevite Nice directing my friend. Keep up the great work!

  • God bless you man i was freaking out yesterday cause i found out my date wanted me to wear a bow tie for our dance but i had no clue how to to tie one and neither did anyone else. i even looked up five videos to tie one but they were either doing it to fast or not showing me how to do the hard parts, if it wasn't for my friend sending me the link of your video i would have never been on time for the dance and i would have gotten yelled at by my date for wearing a regular tie. thank you so much!

  • @scoobydoo51696 Thank you and I'm glad you were able to get it and not get yelled at.

  • I have tried so many bow tie tutorials, and I failed following the instructions on each one. Upon following the instructions of this tutorial, I got it on my first try! Thank you!

  • @JBEvideo I'm glad you were able to get it.

  • This is by far the best explained bow tie tutorial I've seen

Especially the trick pulling the tie to the front to find the hole.

  • I have to tell you that I've judged every bow tie tutorial I've watched by how well the end result looked when the person finished. I literally applauded you when I witnessed your final product. This has now become the standard by which I will learn to tie my own bow ties. Thank you sir! You are a gentleman and a scholar!

  • @tjoverride : Thank you! I'm glad you have joined the bow tie enthusiasts.

  • Dayum! You are soo sexy and I am xtremely proud of you that such a handsome brother can teach a European gentleman a new trick!

Your is by far the best bow-tie masterclass: easy and quick to remember!

  • thank*

  • i want to talk you for posting this. i have seen lots of videos yet yours have helped me the most thanks allot!

  • Is there a different knot for bow ties with pointed ends? All I can ever find are tutorials for tying flat-ended bow ties.

  • thanks this way helped me so much best instructions ive seen

  • thank you so much. you had the easiest video on how to tie a bow tie, by far.

  • Most bow-tie instructions indicate having one end hanging 1-2 inches lower than the other, but you say to start with them even. Is there actually any difference in the resulting bow?

  • @JCyrusFilms : The end result is the same. Dependent upon the size of the bows in the ties is the only reason I believe this would be beneficial. But which ever is the easiest for you to learn.

  • THe first one that is repeatable. Thanks.

  • @arsenx : Glad you liked the instructions.

  • Mr. French, your videos are extremely benificial. Your instruction is the best, and I appreciate learning from your techniques. Thank you & continue the excellent work!

  • @BleekQGilliam : Thank you so much! I will be adding new instructions in 2012.

  • Amazing instructions and I finally understood how it works after I watched your video! Thank you so much!!

  • @ajwong168 : You are welcome, and I'm glad it was of help!

  • Great instructional video. Thanks Charles French!

  • @unclebanana : Thank you very much! You are welcome

  • i noticed that the collar to your shirt makes a wider opening then other shirts. is this type of collar helpful when wearing bow ties?

  • @mobile507 : In my professional opinion the wide-spread or english spread is best for bow ties because it gives more view and focus to the bow tie.

  • this is by far the best guide on youtube ! thanks a lot !

  • @SkateDatZhit : Thank you, and you are very welcome.

  • Bow ties are cool.

  • @Lycian : I agree, it shows attention to detail.

  • you made it so simple for me...now practice makes perfect...thanks

  • @shawnwiggidy : I'm glad you were able to get it. Now show off those unique bow ties!

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!

  • @monsieurjv : Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • Great job thanks so much for the instructions!!!

  • @wrt1958 : You are so welcome!

  • You are the best......

  • great video thank you.

  • Thank you ever so much for posting this video. In short your video broke down the steps in achieving a tied bowtie in easy and understandble segments. Only after watching your video (and trust me I watched more than a few) was I able to achieve a beautifully tied bowtie!

  • I absolutely abhor when people teach as if the student is ALREADY an expert - why would I watch a tutorial if I knew what I was doing already? I watched 14 videos and yours was the FIRST one I got on the FIRST attempt without even looking in the mirror. THANK YOU for TEACHING and not giving a "refresher course". If everyone else said, "fold the first bow over" and left out all of that, "make one side longer than the other" stuff, I could have ironed my clothes and been in bed an hour ago! LOL

  • Just curious, is there a way in order to tie the bow-tie so the ends of the bow-tie are in the front or the rear of the finished knot?

  • @Shockjaw1 : I'm sorry but I have not found a way to do that. One end is on both sides but in front and in back.

  • thanks dude!

  • @NaTHaNopenleaguegame : You're welcome

  • Bow ties imply swag

  • Wow.. Thank you Sir.. I really appreciate your videos.

  • @Nemesis459 : I appreciate you following and enjoying. Thanks!

  • Perfect...This video was a life saver...Thanks!

  • @Djhazard296 : I'm glad it helped

  • THANKS CHARLES, I'M DARWIN!

REALLY QUICK AND SIMPLE... MY 16 YEAR OLD SON REALLY APPRECIATED ME TEACHING HIM THIS NEW SKILL IN STYLE!

  • @SylcthaMath : Darwin, I'm glad you took the time to pass on the skills. I pray parents/father's do more of this.

  • I wish you were in WA State! I need somebody to hook me up with that clean touch. I'm getting a bowtie.

  • @ElderPinkerton : I'm confident something can be arranged.

  • Great instruction, thanks!

  • @linefourty7 You're welcome

  • I watched THREE other videos and couldnt figure out for the life of me how to find the hidden hole to pull the long end through. Your video is great! Thank you so much!!

  • @spark2flame You are welcome, glad it helped

  • AMAZING! this is insanely simpler than all the other methods i've looked at. thank you so much

  • It took two tries and then I caught on. Thanks for the video. Very effective.

  • @rbsnjax You're welcome, glad it helped.

  • what company makes the shirt he's wearing because I like that collar shape of the shirt

  • @metsngiantsfan72 The collar that I'm wearing is called a cut-away collar. Just go to your local men's wear store and see. Thanks for stopping by and watching.

  • My nephew is 16yrs old and really into bow ties. He dresses with style and plus a great football player. We love that he takes pride in God, school books & dress. I gave 2 REAL bow ties for Christmas and I just emailed him your instructions, after watching many others. Your instructions are simple and easy.

    Thank you for your help.

  • @redcar1976 That's great! I would love to post a picture of the young man on my website for others to see. Congrats to him for being an outstanding role model for others. I applaud him. Would love to see the Christmas bow ties on him.

  • so much better than everything else i saw!

  • perfect !!

  • got it on the first try, THANKS!

  • My father taught me how as a kid and my ties would always twist and turn, for years! Watched your video twice and Bam! No more twisting and turning. Perfect in 2 minutes. The news should capture this. Brothers helping Brothers! Happy Holidays!

  • I watched a video before this one that attempted to simplify the process by first tying the bowtie around your knee. After trying to do that for over 15 minutes and failing each and every time, I came to this video and had a perfect bowtie in 2 minutes.

  • @TowelMan : Congratulations and thanks for stopping by. I hope you would share with your family and friends who don't know how.

  • @TheSilverback07 Charles, you missed your calling: You should've been either a teacher or a college professor- You really know how to break things down!!

  • Subscribed! Thanks for the help!!

  • @karmelooooo : Thanks, and you're welcome.

  • how do u tighten it

  • most helpful tutorial.. THANKS, got it in 3 tries. and was able to re-tie it at the event with no mirror!! AWESOME

  • Long story short - you saved the evening!! And perhaps my marriage. :))

  • Very good tutorial, I found many others confusing and unsuccessful. HIGH FIVE TO YOUU

  • This was so helpful!!! I had to learn how to tie a bow tie for my daughter who's dance company is using one in their uniform. I watched two other videos before coming to yours. Thank you so muce for simplicity!

  • @MsYbphony2 : That's great! I'm glad it was a success. Congratulations to you both.

  • i freaking love u man thank god i found this video!

  • I found this video to be the most helpful, but the one problem I have is I can't get the knot tight enough, it feels and looks very loose. How do I fix this?

  • @89jdn1 hold both sides as you are shaping it and gently tug. it will tighten

  • Don't know why yours was the one, but after watching 5 or so different tutorials unsuccessfully I finally have a bow tie on my neck after yours.

  • Still can't figure it out, but almost there. Thanks, great video!

  • Nice. :)

  • Thanks for this video. Watched many others but your really showed how to do it correctly. Will definitely visit deeper into your site...

  • @hubbal11 Thank you and I'm glad it worked for you.

  • i can only manage to tie it on someone else...

  • @wma405 My suggestion is to take your time and practice using the video. It will become easier on yourself.

  • Thanks Charles, by far the best video on youtube I've seen.

  • @thewheelster1 Thank you so much.

  • 1:06 the best part. now I can see the clue.

this is my first video that i could see a view from the sides at that moment.

  • @caztaca36 I hope that trick helped a little.
