  • I am not SSPX, but it is true as if no active participation, there will be no apostasy.

  • I'm not SSPX, but it is true as if there is No Active Participation there will be "No Apostasy" .... It is just between me and The Holy Trinity

  • if you ask my opinion, the Popes summorum "pontificum" made NO difference, i have asked many priests all looked at me with horror or laughed at me when i requested the Tridentine mass, and the bishop... lol, i better not comment..

  • @priest008 you are wrong, beacuse of the Moto Propio, Mass maybe for some people 5 horus away, but at least they have that. Thankfully it is 15 miles away, but I still only get to go once a month, and I still don't know where my next Latin Mass is coming from, but at least its something. At least we have a hope. You must be vigilent, pray the Rosary every day, request the Mass and be strong about it. Just follow the directions and things will work your way.

  • @dacatholicbandorgan

No I am not wrong, my island is surrounded by water, I cant get off it and swim to Italy to find a tridentine mass, in my country there is no Tridentine mass.

  • hHHHhhH

  • Just to think, today, Sunday, somewhere at this time a Tridentine Mass is being celebrated with reverance and beauty.

  • Who ever they are, attending it they are lucky, I am fed up and can't take the current state of the mass any longer, i am not an anti vatican II, but they are not observing Vatican, II they are only taking what they want from vatican II and not observing the rest. Vatican II never rid us from solemnity and Latin, or the tridentine mass, yet they have done away with all of them.

  • @priest008 how close is your closest Latin Mass? BTW, I understand what you are feeling, and even the tendancy and a very stong temptation to go SSPX, or SPPV etc etc, but Don't. Its only the devil leading you away from any Mass Tridentine or Novus Ordo. I could take a bus to my local SSPX Chapel, but I don't beacuse its not valid.

  • @dacatholicbandorgan

yes I agree with you, I would never go SSPX, in itself I like the novous ordo, if it is celebrated as it is meant to, as instructed by the council and not the liberal creeps!

  • @priest008 if you are a Priest, then why don't you learn the Tridentine?

  • @dacatholicbandorgan LOL i am not a priest yet, even if I was and celebrated the Tridentine rite, I would probably be hung here, lol

  • @priest008 I am with you 100%. And why can't we ever hear anything about the evils of contraception and the graces associated with giving ourselves to the Blessed Lord entirely by submitting to His Holy Church, the Roman Catholic Church?

  • Summorum Pontificum: 2 years today!!!

    TE DEUM LADAMUS!

  • I attend a FSSP mass and it's beautiful!

  • Today is the second anniversery of the Moto Propio. Deo Gratias!

  • Are there any in Indonesia yet?

    I am from Jakarta

  • @marahbadrian: we do have Tridentine Mass celebrated in Jakarta - Indonesia every 2 month. If you are interested, please join our facebook page: Kami Cinta Ritus Tridentina

  • Benedict XVI: Kill the sign of peace mass (what's that all about?!) - and restore the traditional pre-Vatican II Tridentine Mass.

  • perhaps it's not too bad to bring Latin back into mass, but I'm glad the Tridentine Mass is only the EXTRAORDINARY rite! Because what gets really lost in this rite is the real communication between priest and lay people, liturgy is again exclusively the priest's thing, which was what the reform in the 60s fortunately finally changed!

  • Mass is not about communication between priest and laypeople. It is about communication between God and the people through the person of the priest. The Mass should never have been changed. There are other (and better) means for communication between the priest and his flock.

  • No. The Liturgy is a Sacred Action - the Sacrifice of the Cross. It is Jesus Christ on the Cross, with the priest in the person of Christ. It is not a communication between priest and lay people at all.

  • Hi Reagan. God bless all the christians in Indonesia. God bless us all. :)

  • I'm not claiming that the Ordinary Form is heretical or invalid, but it certainly does go far beyond the reforms intended by Vatican II. If we really did follow the "Spirit of Vatican II," we would still be using Gregorian chant, Latin for most of the Mass, and probably the od orientum focus as well.

  • You're absolutely right. I always laugh when Traditionalists claim that the Novus Ordo reduces the Mass to a meal, not a sacrifice. Yet in all four of the Eucharistic Prayers, there is not one mention of a "meal," but there are several mentions of sacrifice.

Some people are just blinded by their ignorance.

  • Well, auctually when a Preist or Bishop or Deacon feels brave enough he says "happy are we who are invited to this supper". Although sacrafice is mentioned.

  • A beautiful piece....Thank you so much !

  • no, da branch of da bush is covering his face

  • Beautiful presentation!

  • Dziękujemy Ojcze Święty!

  • Perhaps they should resume teaching Latin in Catholic schools.

  • Yes, they should.

  • @StuartGalore Exactly that was a major hit!!

  • Long live Pope Benedict XVI!! Thank you Holy Father!

  • Indeed.

  • I guess the Latin Mass is alright if held occasionally. Would it be OK for the Tridentine format to be done in the vernacular language of the people attending (e.g., English) so they'll understand and appreciate it more? The Novus Ordo Mass would be OK if they just removed extreme stuff like dancing, tacky colorful decor, etc. Think Novus Ordo Masses as seen on EWTN--I like watching them as they were like the Jesuit retreat I attended.

  • I am afraid I must disagree. The Latin Mass is Universal ... By means of the "Missale Romanum" (Missel) every one can follow the Holy Mass, wherever you are in the world ...

I do not unerstand Spanish, Italian, Polish etc. But that would not be a problem if the Mass was said/sung in Latin .... Here in my country the attendance to Mass hass dropped eversince Novus Ordo Masses have been the norm after Vatican II .... There is one tridentine Church in my city, which is packed every sunday....

  • I agree with you.

  • I grew up on the Novus Ordo Mass and have seen videos of the Latin (Tridentine) Mass. I would prefer the Novus Ordo Mass. It is more spiritual and moving, IF DONE RIGHT. I attended a Novus Ordo Mass at a Jesuit retreat and it was so moving. It was the best Mass I ever attended. All the videos of the Latin Mass I've seen had priests moving in choreography like soldiers or goosestepping Nazis moving on cue.

  • You are an idiot

  • Long live Benedictus Magnus!

  • What is the chant being sung in this video?

  • The first chant is "Panis Angelicus" and the second is "Tota Pulchra Es."

  • As a priest I can tell you....if you celebrate with reverence and the way it was meant....novus ordo can be moving. do you think in the early church the mass was celebrated like this? I love the Latin Mass and am glad that Benedict XVI has given the permission he has....but ask yourself about the Gospel.

  • Father, I agree with you 110%. Notice that my video was nothing more than a reverent celebration of the Extraordinary Form. I'm a diocesan seminarian...I necessarily have a love and appreciation for the Novus Ordo Missae when celebrated as it should be. Worry not!

  • Kyle, the Church needs more priests like you. Thank you for recognizing that the true Spirit of Vatican II (and the Mass of Paul VI) is Tradition.

"Pray for the canonization of Pius XII, John XXIII, and John Paul II"

  • @KyleLD1987

Based on the videos found in youtube, I can say that the Tridentine Mass is a way, way more solemn than the Novus Ordo Missae.

  • Father , with all due respect the key word is IF . A little word ,but with much significant.

But on a higher level , in the new mass there is nothing that Luther or a modern protestant could complain . There is no mention of a sacrific , it just the lord supper . All goes against the Council of Trent , session XXII . .

    very best

  • @francanarsie Father, with all respect and reverence, I would tend to disagree... not regarding the fact that the Missal of Pope Paul VI can be moving, is absolutely valid, and is sacred. Rather, I would tend to disagree with the idea that because the Mass underwent development between around the fifth century, through the Council of Trent, and then up until the Missal of Pope John XXIII, it is inferior to the Divine simplicity of the Mass as celebrated in the age of, say, St. Justin the Martyr.

  • @francanarsie God the Holy Ghost has called each of us into existence out of nothing, nurtures us, and transforms us over our lifetime into the image of God the Son. Likewise, Holy Mother Church, over Her entire two-thousand years of sacred history, has continually been pulled upward into the Divine Nature; She lives and moves and has Her being in the Substance of the Most Holy Trinity; She, in and through Our Lady who preceded Her, is being Assumed into Christ our God; into the Holy Trinity.

  • @francanarsie This has never ceased all throughout the sacred history of the Church; consequently, all of the developments in the Mass occurred directly by the Hand of God, through the Power of the Holy Ghost, and are thus the Gift of Almighty God, and inferior to nothing. To deliberately tear down this Gift in favor of the Divine simplicity of the early Mass is unsettling at best and offensive at worst.

As for the Gospel, it flows from the Holy Eucharist, and out of us in Divine Love.

  • @francanarsie Please forgive my boldness, Father, as I respect and honor the glory that has been invested in you by virtue of your Divine Office. I shall pray for the fruits of your vocation to abound in eternal salvation for all the souls you come in contact with, and save.

  • Where are the women and children Jesus loved in this Mass? If you only find God in this elaborate ritual, then you have missed the message of the Gospel.

  • Cultureboy, the women and children that Jesus loves are at the same place His very own mother was: at the foot of the cross. The Mass is the very same sacrifice offered 2,000 years ago, only in an unbloody manner. We therefore give to God our very best; all that we have and all that we are. We must remember that when we go to Mass we are approaching the SAME cross - it's not about us, or the women, or the children...it's about rendering fitting worship to the God we must love above all else.

  • Amen Kyle

  • but its tradition.. its like christmas. sure we dont need presents or a tree but it makes it mroe exciting.

  • i feel the catholic church falling t othe ground we walk on...... Lets not allow the latin lagnuage to become dead, lets not let catholic tradition wash away.

  • CHRISTUS REX!! CHRIST THE KING!!!

  • Heaven on Earth! You don't know what your missing until you attend this Holy and Reverent Mass of all ages. I can feel the presence of God as I watch this. How we are Blessed. Jesus, Saviour of the world, We Love Thee!

  • Absolutní nádhera!

  • "Why on earth did the Church deprive us young Catholics of such a beautiful Mass?" Don't you just feel ROBBED? Seriously! I'm 38 and knew nothing but the New Mass growing up. Discovered the TLM 14 years ago and have never looked back. Now my children have known nothing BUT the Latin Mass and lo, they LOVE attending Mass! Deo Gratias! Thank you Holy Father!

  • Magnificent.
