In fact, as a LINGUIST, I actually prefer to say that this is HAITIAN, not Creole, since CREOLE IS NOT A LANGUAGE per se, but a type of language.

@franag7 Idk bout all that but i AM HAITIAN and in HAITI we speak CREOLE there are different types of it but its still creole. and i was born in Haiti so from my perspective of living there half my life.... u can take it from a native. Like if u were to go to any Haitian and say hey do you speak Haitian??! we wud laugh in ur face/ be offended. and i get that all the time, we hate that. Haitian is NOT what we speak, its what we are. Ppl do that all the time idk why but thats not technically true.

@kidabest Glad to know that you ARE HAITIAN. I AM TOO. I lived most of my life in Haiti and just came back from there just a month ago. I love my language. Actually, studying LINGUISTICS caused me to love it even more. Sure, we call it CREOLE, but that's technically not right. Fact is most Haitians are ignorant about their own language, most can't READ IT, some don't even know that it has grammar, dictionary etc. And many people know there are other creoles (ex. LOUISIANA Creole) kenbe la!
