Entirely specially built rigs and camera equipment, planning to the very last detail for several years, and a lot of money to facilitate those things.
One of the most amazing films in cinema history. All made in one continuous shot. I watched it on a super-large screen in Paris: It really was a time machine. Yes, all hail Sokurov!
If you want a fun experience, put this movie in, put it on mute, crank up some Pink Floyd song like Echoes, and then get moderately drunk or a little bit high.

Horrible. A reactionary film about russian aristocracy, we can do without that and so could Sokurovs career. He is a genious - for the most part, but not in this. Even so Sokurov is great even when he is very reactionary but in this case he just goes a little bit to far with the shit. This time he dosn't even care to conceal his love and attraction for the russian ultranationalist, tsarist-fascist and ultrareactionary aristocracy it is really really sad
How is it possible to nut cut in entire 99 minutes?

О, Зимний дворец, что может быть лучше))) Особенно этот Николаевский зал...Жаль конечно, что он сильно утратил свою изначальную красоту....
