it really upsets me when i'm trying to watch the show and the camera man/editor try and get too fancy with the shots. there was so much zooming and angle changing that at times you lose what is actually going on with the dancers. I'm trying to watch a show! If i were there in person I wouldn't be seeing all the stupid zooms. Pick a distance and stay there!

@ZWILD1 She stood accused, inaccurately, of exploiting (is that the right word?) the physically challenged in order to achieve her own experimental heights. Visionless people, aiming very low, felt this was nothing more than making fun of the disabled. And of course, there is always the nipples issue. I wonder how these same types of people would have handled Chouinard's performance debut where she urinated on stage?

@fatovamingus I don't see how anyone connects this to exploiting disabilities. The mobility aids are used in a way that is disconnected from the people they are designed for. They're used as props and simulated sex toys, but that seems more like fetish than making fun.

They said same crazy things about Heddy Maalem because he is white and his company is black (they are all from Africa including Maalem). You made some interesting points here! Thank you. As far as Chouinard pissing on stage....it may be crass and it could even have been unnecessary but who are we to say what is and isn't art? I don't always understand what motivates an artist.

@fatovamingus The "nipple issue" is an issue because she chose to make it one. No pasties to draw the eye and all you have is bare breasts. In fact the womens' costumes are entirely designed to draw the eye to certain parts of the body. Feminists used to call that "objectifying women". But I guess its o.k., if you're producing "art". And you're a woman (imagine the outrage, if a male choreographer had staged this show,.... with those costumes).

@fatovamingus Pissing on stage is not art. It is acting outrageous for the sole purpose of receiving attention. Art should make you think in new ways, should make you feel in new ways, should make you consider a whole world that exists outside your realm of experience. Pissing in public is just crass.
