God is great. I wish someone would make a video with this song showing people suffering from Polio, Malaria or Smallpox. Or how roundworms eat through a child's body. All primitive and sufficiently intelligent beings will at some point try to explain why they exist. The first step is explaining what happens when you die (soul, spirit, daemons, superbeings (gods)). And that is why every culture has their own religion. It is normal.
To ignore grand design (God) and give yourself over to the belief of natural selection (Evolution, No God) is utter foolishness. I base this belief on science and scripture. Irreducible complexity. Look it up.

Once and for all: Christians can accept all of the sciences. For Pete's sake! It was a Catholic Priest/Physicist that formulated the Big Bang theory. No dichotomy between the sciences and the Christian faith.
@megaead69 What about evolution? A christian is a follower of christ and believes the bible as truth. The big bang says the Universe is billions of years old while the bible hints it as being around 6000. There are HUGE differences between science and faith. Science disproves every miracle of the bible. Make water into wine? No. Feed 20000 people with 1 loaf of bread and 2 fish? No. Live in a fish for 3 days? Not even for an hour.

@aqouby I accept evolution, as do many other Christians (Almost all Catholics, and many mainline Protestants). The Big Bang theory was developed by a Catholic Priest who was also a Physicist- Georges Lemaitre'.

@alex71335 The bible said that god created everything in 6 days and rested on the seventh. There is no description anywhere that describes how gods time of the six days is scalar to ours. And scientists never said that the earth hangs upon nothing. It doesn't hang at all. It follows the laws of gravity, where up and down are dependent on the gravitational pull.

@TheSuperfoodman It also uses the words "Elohim made the Earth, Elohim then made etc..." Elohim is the plural of Elohai and means The Gods. Monotheism did not exist in the Hebrew's minds back then. Genesis 3 relates "The Gods saw the day became cooler, so they walked throughout the garden and asked: Adam, Where art Thou?" Pretty contradicting and interesting as to "God's" omniscience, isn't it?

@ganondorf59 True, but "Elohim" Is used as "gods" with plural verbs and adjectives. It is also used as singular with singular verbs and ajdectives. The Hebrew Bible uses the verbs and adjectives as singular.

Nevertheless, Genesis/Bereishit 3 clearly states humans became "As one of us" after eating from the Tree Of Knowledge. Clear evidence for the original lack of monotheism.
This only came later on, as Persia (first monotheists) freed the Ancient Israelites from Babylon.

According to the latest thought on the origins of the universe, not only matter but also space and time came into existence at the big bang. So there was no "before".
Everyone is entitled to believe what they choose to, I am a devoted Christian but I’m not here to argue my faith against science. .
I now have a question the scientific community denies the Christian belief that god created the universe. I am aware of the big theory –my question what caused the big bang? If all matter came formed from the big bang what was before it?
@MrOldfashion ask yourself again, who created god? why would you assume it's god who created the world just because event before bigbang is still unkown. Have you heard of the critical thinking process? Research that, try to think that way.

But since you did answer my question, I will overlook the former. Let me try to understand – the event triggering the big bang is unknown, however the scientific community believes that event is possible with no prove whatsoever. Kinda funny if you think of science as a religion.

Matter is not eternal (2nd Law of Thermodynamics), and the universe is composed of matter. Therefore the universe cannot be eternal and must have had a beginning.
I wasn't there and neither were any of us. So we cannot definitely explain how it was done unless whoever or whatever created this univerese communicates that process to us.
Who created God? (This is where you say, "No one. God has always existed. He is outside of time and space.") Hmm, okay, then if some things don't require a creator, why does the universe require one? Just because we don't know something doesn't mean "God did it!" People who reject science just don't know enough about it. Instead of watching videos about mythology you should all check out some websites on evolution, astrophysics, biology, whatever. Something USEFUL to mankind.

If you believe in Jesus, you will experience eternal life. We've always had "God" to explain the things in nature we didn't understand, like thunder and earthquakes. Every time we learn something new, "God" gets a little smaller. Thanks to scientists like Hawking we will soon understand the origins of the universe and life itself, and like thunder and earthquakes, there is no God required. People will soon start asking questions. Knowledge and truth will eventually win out. You can't keep people in the dark forever.

Everything He created, He created so we could explore and enjoy it and bring praise to Him for doing that for us. Also a few planets have a very significant role in the functions of our world. Evolution is a FACT, as we'd seen it happen across industries of meat, plant agriculture, medicine industry. Partially pushed through mutation and other selective factors we'd imposed... ie, pesticides, sterilization.
Incredibly complex organs, although seemingly irreducible, remarkable constructs like wondrous machinery, are built up, one section at a time. and these smaller segments initially served different purposes too.
life is way to complex to form on its own. has any of you ever stopped to wonder why it is that us humans breath in the perfect amount of air to survive and the earth is placed at just the right distance from the sun to survive. something does not come from nothing. the sun and the stars might not orbit the earth but the earth is in the perfect place for everything in it to survive. this doesnt happen out of chance.

i have not watched this video or read any of the comments below. My only intention here is to state my strong held belief on life and religion. There are things we do not know, but we cannot just give it an answer by stating it was gods work. We question, and cant always expect to receive an answer. But the number one reason why i dont believe in any biblical stories is because I KNOW, that this is the only damn life that i am guaranteed of and because of it, i will make the most of it...

Creation and a creator make no sense. What can be the purpose of birthdefects(120.000 a year in the US alone) Where was this creator at the conception and development of these babies ? Stillbirths make no sense. Why create a life and hope, to terminate it even before birth. Makes no sense at all.

Just a liitle story. I have a 500 year old instruction book for the clergy. I read inthere that one day they brought in a man with 2 heads( a siamese twin according to their description). They had not a single word how to help this man, but they had pages of theological nonsense if this man had to be baptised once or twice, if he had two souls or one. The big bang says the Universe is billions of years old while the bible hints it as being around 6000. There are HUGE differences between science and faith. Science disproves every miracle of the bible. Make water into wine? No. Feed 20000 people with 1 loaf of bread and 2 fish? No. Live in a fish for 3 days? Not even for an hour.

@aqouby I accept evolution, as do many other Christians (Almost all Catholics, and many mainline Protestants). The Big Bang theory was developed by a Catholic Priest who was also a Physicist- Georges Lemaitre'.
The topic of God's question is not a scientific question. The Bible is not a science book either. On evolution and Christianity- I'd suggest you watch the BBC documentary "Did Darwin Kill God?" The link is on my page.

@alex71335 The bible said that god created everything in 6 days and rested on the seventh. There is no description anywhere that describes how gods time of the six days is scalar to ours. And scientists never said that the earth hangs upon nothing. It doesn't hang at all. It follows the laws of gravity, where up and down are dependent on the gravitational pull.
Again, if you can show me some science in the bible then I'll believe you.

@TheSuperfoodman It also uses the words "Elohim made the Earth, Elohim then made etc..." Elohim is the plural of Elohai and means The Gods. Monotheism did not exist in the Hebrew's minds back then. Genesis 3 relates "The Gods saw the day became cooler, so they walked throughout the garden and asked: Adam, Where art Thou?" Pretty contradicting and interesting as to "God's" omniscience, isn't it?
I'm no Atheist, but I'm a historian, philosopher and scholar, hence I know my stuff.

Nevertheless, Genesis/Bereishit 3 clearly states humans became "As one of us" after eating from the Tree Of Knowledge. Clear evidence for the original lack of monotheism.
This only came later on, as Persia (first monotheists) freed the Ancient Israelites from Babylon.

It is only governed in the first clause ("Then the Lord God said").The word "amer" is used in the Hebrew Bible with translate out to "said" in English.

Matter is not eternal (2nd Law of Thermodynamics), and the universe is composed of matter. Therefore the universe cannot be eternal and must have had a beginning.
I wasn't there and neither were any of us. So we cannot definitely explain how it was done unless whoever or whatever created this univerese communicates that process to us.

We've always had "God" to explain the things in nature we didn't understand, like thunder and earthquakes. Every time we learn something new, "God" gets a little smaller. Thanks to scientists like Hawking we will soon understand the origins of the universe and life itself, and like thunder and earthquakes, there is no God required. People will soon start asking questions. Knowledge and truth will eventually win out. You can't keep people in the dark forever.

Evolution is a FACT, as we'd seen it happen across industries of meat, plant agriculture, medicine industry. Partially pushed through mutation and other selective factors we'd imposed... ie, pesticides, sterilization.
Incredibly complex organs, although seemingly irreducible, remarkable constructs like wondrous machinery, are built up, one section at a time. and these smaller segments initially served different purposes too.

There are things we do not know, but we cannot just give it an answer by stating it was gods work. We question, and cant always expect to receive an answer. But the number one reason why i dont believe in any biblical stories is because I KNOW, that this is the only damn life that i am guaranteed of and because of it, i will make the most of it...

Just a liitle story. I have a 500 year old instruction book for the clergy. I read inthere that one day they brought in a man with 2 heads( a siamese twin according to their description). They had not a single word how to help this man, but they had pages of theological nonsense if this man had to be baptised once or twice, if he had two souls or one. Did he create the deserts first and then made an animal with feet that can witstand the heat in the sand and go on without water for days ? Why did he create deserts in the first place ? @Boodle545 You deliberately substitute "tyrants" with "atheists". With a rare exception those tyrants eliminated their opponents, which in most cases was religion. You deliberately skip over the fact, that those tyrants are no beacon of morality, like christianity claims to be. You deliberately omit to mention that their doctrine(if any) doesn`t demand murder, but the bible DOES. Interesting !!

@Boodle545 so it means we come from the same common ancestor. the neaderthal fossils. carbon dating is how we know the world is 4.6 billion years. monkeys and humans do look a lot alike(look at skeletons). the vestigal organs are found on all sourts of animals for example whales have pelvises. why would your god put a pelvis on something that swims??? its not needed

As a believer, were does YOUR morality come from ? From a 3.000 year old book, written by ignorant goat-herders ?Whose morality is right, the christian, the moslem, the bouddhists ? etc etc.

They did not kill for the sole reason that their opponent was of a different faith. While christians, in several instances, committed crimes against humanity for the sole reason that their opponent refused to convert, or was of a different faith.
