  • can you describe your curve setting? look like mine is to sensitive, so alittle movement can make a large affect... ^^ thx

  • sf4JC...thanks that was great!!..I have got my one (1.6) running very well with my MS HD5000 webcam, in FSX....a great improvement over what I started out with...

Noticed I need to keep my face fully illuminated or it drops out of tracking....

Alot smoother but not as good as yours...????

Any other info....could you upload a screenshot of the settings etc...just so I can get it set exactly the same...I cant see the handle bars properly on the curves etc...Laurie

  • @LWJCarroll - I noticed you had posted on another updated video, so I posted my settings there in the info.

  • Anyone who's been using this with ARMA 2 and can point me to a setup guide or somesuch? Can't get it to work.

Also my Google-fu is weak as water.

  • @white0devil0 - I don't personally know any ARMA 2 Forums, but that would be possibly the best place to go other than going to the FaceTrackNoIR forums @ H T T P : / / sourceforgeDOTnet/projects/facetracknoir/. I cannot give you the exact address because YouTube has never allowed that for some reason for me.

  • everytime when i start FacetrackNoIR i get the same "Failure-Message" that no Dll´s found in the Waterfall procedure. can anybody help me because the manuel and the known issuses on their homepage doesnt work. thx

  • @RenaultR5Gte - I must ask to make sure, but did you check with the "IPP runtime related error(s)" section of the known issues? Or try going to the forums @ sourceforgeDOTnet/projects/facetracknoir/.

  • @sf4JC

yes i did but i get the error message on both programms. even with FaceAPI

  • @RenaultR5Gte - Try going to the forums and asking there, I believe they may be able to fix it, or maybe let you know whether or not it will work with your setup. When you ask your question there, give info on what kind of computer system you have and also what OS (Win98/XP/Vista/7) you use. And I forgot, tell them what webcam/camera you are using as well. Sorry I couldn't be more help. In the meantime, if I find an answer, I'll repost.

  • uum. what settings do i do. everytime i move close to cam. it dont go foward. wait worng thing. it doesnt work. WHATT SEEEETTTTIIIINGNSSSSSS

  • What do you mean by "what settings"? The settings are shown on the righthand side of the video for about the first 50 seconds. If you're having trouble reading it, try raising the resolution of the video to 720p and view it at full screen. Don't expect to be able to read it at 100%, I had to do it this way because of video capture quality. What version of FaceTrackNoIR are you using, and what sim are you having problems with it?

  • @sf4JC well i look in the thing where it says game protocal, i dont have SimConnect, only FreeTrack, FlightGear, FTNOir joystick, Virtual Joystick, and Fake IR.

  • What version of FaceTrackNoIR are you using (version1.3, version1.4, version1.5, or version1.6) ? What sim/game are you having problems with?

  • @sf4JC FaceTrackNoIr 1.0.

I got the version off the site of the program i think, ill update it.

    Cheers.

  • Make sure you install version1.3 and then update it to version1.5. I believe there is also an update to the v1.5 too. The v1.6 is only available to people that have donated to the project, but v1.5 is great for now, that is the one I am using.

  • @sf4JC well thanks but when i completly turn left, it fails to track.

  • @sf4JC well thanks but when i completly turn left, it fails to track.

P.S everytime it tracks my face, the cam goes out of the cockpit

  • Goto {Options}, then {Keyboard Shortcuts} and assign a key to Center (example: SHIFT+F1 ). Now, when you go back into the sim and have FaceTrackNoIR set up, look at the center of your viewing area and press the shortcut key you have assigned and you should be set to go. The room you are in should have a good light source to the front of you, or at least have good light all around you. I'm assuming you are using FaceTrackNoIR v1.5 with FSX, but please correct me if I am wrong.

  • @sf4JC WELL i think problem is somehow the webcam makes the video thing grey, im trying it right now. if it fails. i think something is wrong with webcam

  • @JJ7x6Studios The grey image is I believe normal for everyone, but I could be wrong. I noticed in one of your videos that there might be a window to the back side of you, this might be a problem. I have direct sunlight from the right side in the mornings, so I went out and bought an LED lamp so it would lighten up the left side of my face to neutralize the light on my face, making the tracking more stable. You can also maybe pull the shades/blinds on that window to dampen its effects on image.

  • ????u6303, Please go to the FaceTrackNoIR forum, because I think you may get help there. In the mean time, try reinstalling it and make sure you download the v1.5 update. Also, this video may be showing an outdated pre-release version of FaceTrackNoIR.

  • You're welcome. They are still working hard at it, updating it week to week in the repository there at the site. I still haven't got the latest alpha or beta version to work yet, but version 1.5 is doing good for me for now.

  • thanks man you just saved me 180 bucks!!!
