Maelstorm is great, but by the time you can actually get it vs zerg, the game is almost always decided because games with zerg go so fast. It's not worth a rush to it because you would be sacrificing units that you'd need to kill the stunned zerg.

I agree, If Boxer played Protoss we might see some of that stuff more. I mean maelstrom+storm seems like an insanely good combo, but you never see it. a hallucination army could split the enemy forces.

He's clearly not up to par by his eliminations in the pre-rounds of the individual leagues, but we can still hope for the future. I think because of his great love for the game, we can count on him being a progamer for many more years, and not just quitting because he can't get out of his 4 year slump.

Psychology plays a big role

Boxer pressured Baxter into defeat with combined attack on natural AND a nuke. He just couldn't handle the pressure after the nuke landed. He prolly felt like he was being "played" with.

Nuke was awesome as always but the reason Boxer won the match was beautiful tech/unit switches at the PERFECT times. Firebats were available as soon as the first swarm hit the battlefield and vulture mines were able to take out A MASSIVE luker counter attack. Thats what it takes imo to be one of the top pros at any sport anticipation and execution.

I remember watching pro sc matches pre-boxer, so I'm not some ignorant new kid on the scene.

Let's be honest - Boxer's play was painful at times. Very messy, and you couldn't help but feel he played like a progamer who was handicapped to a certain apm, he just couldn't keep up.

Still, he won and Baxter isn't THAT bad. Boxer played with a style that will stick in my head for some time to come. He is a great entertainer, perhaps the greatest on the scene to this day, congrats Lim Yo-Hwan!

I never understand why pro Z players barely build a spore colony in their expansions. Well yeah you will say a waste of money. But if you build a spore colony and save your ass out of Wraith/DT harassment then it is worth it.

It is so sad to see pros manages to save that freaking 175 mineral but usually lost more than 175 mineral economic due to harassment. And they seem to never care about this. Even a single spore can scare opponent away! Don't let them feel comfortable to go cloaked units!!

Baxter isn't exactly a high quality opponent, but I'll take a Boxer win any time I can get one :)

No other pro gamer would ever use nukes vs a zerg other than Boxer (except for humiliation in a won game maybe). I'm glad he still tries to entertain the fans by pulling off crazy stuff and having fun, rather than just trying to win as many games as possible by playing conventionally.

From the last SC2 battle report I saw, Boxer would really love using nukes in that game!
