The Nintendo DS is marketed to children. The Iphone for has a more mature audience and costs $600. Yes, the phone is only $200 with a 2-year contract. A dsi is only about $110 right now. Either way, the iphone is just more powerful and expensive.

@devious222 oh no hell yeah nintendo beats most games in terms of gameplay, ocarina of time is my favorite game. its just back then games looked amazing, and cell phone games looked like crap. side scrolling games for the cell phone would move so slow and would lag. and now a cell phone looks much better graphically than a portable console. im from the 90's so its like hard for me to believe ! i remember when i was going into 6th grade cell phones made a huge leap of technology

@bakedpootetoo that's not what the previous comments were about. basically what i meant to say is, graphics aren't everything. whether a game is good or not on any system has to do much more with the game developer, not the system. Also you have to consider price points (nintendo ds = 100 dollars... iphone = 500+ dollars)
@jason854656 The Nintendo DS came out in 2004 and the original iPhone came out in 2007. Considering that computer processing power doubles about every year it's absolutely no surprise that the iPhone is a more powerful device.
Besides that, graphics mean absolutely nothing in a game. Game-play and innovation make games fun, and because the iPhone lacks buttons it can never have tight enough controls to make it a competitor in the "hardcore" game market.
@atticusthebum see i grew up with freakin zack morris cell phones, when i was in school, i had to pull out an antenna out of the phone to make calls, my freakin yearbook says "cell phones have advanced, some can now record videos of up to 40 seconds long" the fact that you can now access youtube on any phone is honestly AMAZING to me. The games i had in my phone ran soooooo low they had the lowest frame rate ever, but it was amazing to me, it took the character 5-7 seconds to cross the screen
People, it's about alternatives. A reasonable person should not expect actual Halo to appear on Iphone. But people want similar experiences for their mobile devices, since as far as I know, you can't play Halo in a taxi. So for all intensive purposes, this is Halo for the Iphone.
Besides, I look past 'oh there's a guy in armor with sci fi guns' and look at the gameplay. Since you can have 5 weapons at a time, I start thinking less 'Halo' and more 'Resistance' for example.
gameloft is very unimpressive.. .their free version of their games SUCK SHIT! At least make it able to play forever and with a couple of levels, because im having doubts about buying anything from them cuz i dont buy anything without a good enough trial version

@madmax2069 Not quite true. Having software that is fast & Flawless is very hard. Code everything in big bloated classes use relaxed memory hogging variables and generally don't optimise you eliminate the root of most bugs (for my code) right there.

I have this game it's great I luv it but it could use some edditing and then it wood be on the top ten paid games. Like more different type of drones to kill more guns more levels and for online more places. Plus some of my friends say u shood have like a specific level u r on. Wolfenestein was the first FPS...or at least, the very first of the modern FPSes. we owe ID for that, and Doom, and Quake, which were all revolutionary. Halo wouldn't have existed without these founding games which established the core of FPS games today.

Eh Doom and Wolfenstein were made like 2 decades ago, there were countless other games of the same genre on PC before Halo was released. These type of games evolved on PC, so yes Halo is just a rip off on consoles, sorry to tell you buddy.
Also Quake series are much better than Halo, faster paced, and don't suffer from limitations of a crappy game console controller.

Mass Effect is not awesome. The reason why Mass Effect 2 is such a success, is because that game fixed everything that was wrong with the first release. ME 2 is awesome, ME is not, just good.

in what way? first ME isn't even first person, the weapons look like Halo, armor, setting the ability to gravity jump enemies are more haloish In ME you fight mostly Geth and mercenary type with exceptions ofcourse. Don't see much that resemble Mass effect, nice try though.

Wolfenestein was the first FPS...or at least, the very first of the modern FPSes. we owe ID for that, and Doom, and Quake, which were all revolutionary. Halo wouldn't have existed without these founding games which established the core of FPS games today.

Also you said "HALO is nothing like those games". HALO plays exactly the same as Quake and countless other first person shooters on PC that predate it

Eh Doom and Wolfenstein were made like 2 decades ago, there were countless other games of the same genre on PC before Halo was released. These type of games evolved on PC, so yes Halo is just a rip off on consoles, sorry to tell you buddy.
Also Quake series are much better than Halo, faster paced, and don't suffer from limitations of a crappy game console controller.

And just because halo 1 was so good of a game and was sold plenty of times doesn't give this game the right to change it to iphone and give it a 4 letter name.
Plus, what he says and what they say in the halo 1 review is identical, " You arrive to this whole alien-like world ", familiar.

Also you are concentrating on superficial things, characters, story, etc. I'm talking about gameplay. Halo is not the original as many seem to believe, it did not invent the concept of a first person shooter, there were countless of games like that on PC and Halo copied them.

And anything including fighting aliens would not be copying because " aliens from space " is something that has been around longer then the pc games were, therefore taking an idea like that and putting it in a game would not be copying.

But the core of the game is still the same. Shooting at enemies while looking at them from first person, while picking up various weapons, power ups etc.
Sure they may have mixed some things up (changing the weapons a bit, story, enemies), but the same is true for most other games.
The point is that Halo is NOT the original game of this type as many claim it to be, it's as much of a copy cat as NOVA.

HALO was not ground breaking in any fashion EXCEPT it was on the console and it was half decent (even then GoldenEye makes this debatable). Nothing more.
