how do people think this game is hard? Played for like 80+ hours beat it with no real problems.

Only hard bits in the entire game : Stray demon, Smough and Ornstein, and that part with the archers in Anor Londo. Not a tough game, just can't have the call of duty mindset and expect to just hold down a button until everything is dead.

@JetJaguarLOL I have to agree to some extent, Dark Souls IS hard but the hardness has been a bit hyped up, I think. I did die about 5-6 times before killing the Asylum Demon, but I've never played Demon Souls before and I did manage to get a flow going for Dark Souls.

Darks Souls is hard, compared to most other Action RPGs. But it's a cakewalk compared to games like Doom 3 on Nightmare mode, for instance.

Love the game though. :D

Overpowered boss with a ridiculous range. But I will eventually beat it. Just beating this game proves how much of a gamer you are. I loved the hell out of Demon's Souls and once again From Software has captured my heart while breaking my balls in the at the same time. No one can beat this game 4 times without dying once. Even a super autistic with amazing hand reflexes.

@wallmartkiller Yea i was using the battle axe before but its too slow and does shitty dps. I found it better with the longsword and chainmail armor because my endurance was so high and i started over, took me about 50 tries, and now i do this fight flawlessly everytime

This boss fight is made ridiculously easy if you become human before attempting it, as you can summon an NPC knight character to aid you with it who acts as a tank, and draws away one of the gargoyles.

You can also get a nice helmet from this boss. Kill one of them by bashing its face in, and you get the Gargoyle Helmet.

@omenajari You might want to get a Drake Sword (obtained by shotting arrows into the tail of the druger once you go under the bridge) or maybe the Uchigatana (obtained by killing the first trader). I'm using the Uchigatana reinforced to +5, but I am having some problems with these 2 guys since I get nervous and don't think it trough and just go ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK! and then I die :(.

And if there is a path that I don't know where it leads to, or who the fuck is down there waiting on me, I go back, level up, spend my souls, then come back. That way I never feel like I lost something :D

If you're watching this video wondering why this strategy isn't working for you it's because you aren't wearing full plate armor as a knight/warrior. There is no need to roll in this fight ever, put on armor even if it slows your roll down. If you don't have a good enough shield go back and farm. Anyone can do this fight with full plate armor.

I killed the first black knight and got his sword, it was a lot more powerful then the drake sword, it even powered up when you lvled up strength (drake doesn't). With this sword these guys were a cake walk (I did do some grinding tho)

Before you enter the church you can go to the right side of it, with two shield/sword wielding foes and an archer. Then walk through the long passage on the right side. There are no more enemies here, and if you go down the stairs in the room at the end, you'll find a bonfire and below that you'll find the blacksmith.

I upgraded my shield to +5, easily doable if you grind souls a bit at the dragon bridge. Now attacks should remove much less stamina when blocked. Useful for the club knight too.

At this point you'll already have the Drake sword which destroys the boss no problem and there is no point just attacking the front, this bosses weakness is its tail.

lol secret weapon, yeah, no. Second one gives you a shield but actually rare weapon drop here would be Gargoyle Halberd that is very rarely dropped.

If your in human form you can summon the sun knight before you go into the fight, makes it way easier.

All you have to do is be a Human and summon Knight Solaire, a yellow NPC Phantom who will basically split the effort in half.

Just make sure he survives.

You guys should make a quick video on how to get the Drake Sword (shooting the red dragons tail until it breaks off). It's silly strong especially in this fight. I took out a single gargoyle in about 10-hits and was only hurt once (I am a Demon's Souls veteran but I would not say I am super skilled). Also, the sword is just useful for a lot of stuff AND it has a projectile attack that sends a wave of energy forward when using the heavy two-handed attack, but it kills the durability faster.

Tip for shield users and this boss:

During each downtime of his swing don't hold your shield up; holding the shield up slows the rate of stamina recovery by a half and could deplete your stamina allowing the boss to break through your guard. Only hold it up when you see the attack coming! Helped me out a lot

Yeah after dying afew times trying to dodge I realised the best strategy was to block most attacks. The Gargoyles have long reach but don't do insane damage like other bosses. I was trying to get clever dodging but I just wasn't good at it. Blocking was a revelation.

Oh, man. This boss fight.

After a couple of failures i just removed all of my armor to move and roll faster and went all deprived on his ass. My shield is powerful enough to block 2-3 of the gargoyles attacks, so i just run around him and attack since i'm much faster than it. Once the second one was left he must have had 20% HP left when i got burned by his flames.

Such a dick move.
