All tarantulas carry venom, and the hair of the Avicularia avicularia can cause skin rashes to people who are allergic to it. it is better to be safe than sorry with a tarantula, they are foreign animals and must be treated with respect and caution. this species is,however, one of the more social tarantulas and can get along quite well with humans.
why are u wearing a glove its a pink toe an antilles they are harm less i play whith my king baboon and its alot more aggressive and all of my pink toes have never tried to harm me including my antilles
yeah the hairs irritate like mad an i have a spider the exact same species/size and my girlfriend touched its toe and it jumped into the hair and grabbed her hand!
I have a question, I just got one of these, and I have read so much that they jump alot, is that not true? because I have seen a couple vids of ppl handling them without them jumping, does yours jump?
Hey everyone, I'm thinking of buying a tarantula because they seem like magnificent creatures but I have some major questions about them, care, maintnence and such, so if anyone could send me a pm and answer some questions i'd appreciate that greatly. Thanks everyone. By the way thats a beautiful pink toe you have midnight.
This was my first time handling her. If you check out my other videos, you'll see that I've handled her without the gloves. Thanks for all the encouragement, it was quite a memorable experience.
Still nervous with Tarantulas or sensitive to the hairs? :3 if it's nervous, you're better off without the gloves ... they may restrict the amount of movement you can use to handle. :3
i never bothered with the gloves. I have the same breed. They're only going to shed those urticating hairs if they're nervous around you. It's all about trust.
I used to have to wear gloves because I had problems with there urticating hair. Had nothing to do with thinking they might bite me or something. Eventually I had to sell mine because I got sick off all the little itchy red bumps I kept getting on my hands and arms. Now I have a snake! No hair to worry about with that.
Haha, that's how I was when I got my Rosehair. I wore a gardening glove the first time, but then I was like the hell with it, and I took it off. Now I let him crawl all over me, he's been on my back for a while just hanging out when I couldn't see him. Pink toes and Rosehairs are very friendly and rarely bite. Atleast your guy sits there. Mine never does. He's always crawling around and exploring.
i would love 2 pick up my baby tatrantulas i am just 2 scared 2 pick it up just incase it bites i need somoone 2 be with me and me do it 4 the first time then maybe i will be ok after that
I have a pinktoe to I never use gloves though there really friendly just watch out when they jump I was just holding mine and it jumped but thankfully it landed on my bed
Beautiful tarantula. I have a pink toe too, a. avicularia, she is very friendly, I never wear gloves to handle any of my Ts. They can jump off your hands, not good.

@ teentitansnumber1fan.. its an Avicularia Versicolor .. common name is the Pink Toe Tarantula..
Good job handling lol, i have a B. Smithi (Redknee) and a G. Rosea (Chilean Rose)...
I only handle my rosea as my smithi will take a flying leap of my hand >_>.
Curious.. Why do you wear gloves? Is it the hairs?
They do make you itchy lol
