  • Amazing! I especially love the part after 1:00

Bravo!

  • The sound of the violin gets lost. Maybe that's intended but I don't like it.

  • Maravilloso, simplemente maravilloso!!!

  • Is that Double bass fretted?!?!?! I guess some old baroque thingy

  • @tomorocko Its not a bass, its a Violone from the Viol family, they all were fretted.

  • Carmignola is so much better...

  • Carmignola is so much better...

  • @eliasze Carmignola is a violinist and a musician, this is only a clown

  • @Rudel23 Respect the Artist please ! Fabio gives his interpretation of the piece you may or may not like it but please no insult! As a side note, if you knew him personally you would realize how immense his love for music is and how much of himself he gives in every record or piece he works on.

  • @Rudel23

    Bullshit!

  • @jonnykam yes, because you're so IGNORANT!ah!ah!

  • bravissimi...stupendo !!!!! bravi ancora!!!

  • così mi piace!!!! Aggressiva veloce violenta.... ho ancora voglia di sentire puzza di pece!

  • bravissimo. Thank you very much.

  • Ah, I can only imagine the bliss he must have felt between 1:47 and 1:54. In any case I can tell you I had a big musical orgasm when I heard AND saw this passage.

  • @GODSAWAYONBUSINESS

whooo ah! great! I didn't not there was anyone employing the term "musical orgasm" apart from my friends and me : D

  • ...boh

  • Fabio Biondi is the most amazing violinist playing the four seasons for my taste!

I have had the opportunity to watch him play live this last movement and its amazing!

I really like the fact that he enjoys it while playing and he is not afraid to smile to his orchestra while playing!

!!!! W Vivaldi W Biondi

  • ammirevole velocità, il diritto all'interpretazione è intoccabile, ma... just isn't my Vivaldi

  • Four words...WAY TO FUCKING FAST, for fuck sake slow down!

  • Fabio Biondi just like Carmignola enjoy the baroque bow for its super speed... Fantastic and beautiful Bravo !

  • Solo violin volume too low....

  • Harpsichord blast beats!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Exceptionnel, absolument exceptionnel.

    Bravo. Quel merveilleux travail.

  • Why does it seem like Biondi cannot keep up with the tempo and he wants to go faster every time?

  • Semplicemente da brivido! Forse le quattro stagioni vanno suonate così.

  • Bold virtuosism.

  • Insuperabile Fabio Biondi, e il suo ensamble.

    Bravo!!

  • The only reason this is good is because the other violinists drown out biondi.

  • Ma si capisce tutto, bellissimo!!!

  • Mica lo fa come i vostri barbogi ottocenteschi a 70 battiti.

    ..eppure, e' belissimo!

  • grande musica

  • Heavy metal style... \m/ -.- \m/

  • @lalagonegaga Yeah, baby, yeah!

  • I don't agree with the purists, but this rendition has the impetus and freedom that makes baroque music become new again !

    Way to go Fabio !

  • no, mi dispiace,no.

    esecuzione palesemente troppo veloce.

  • DAM -- these kats SPIT HOT FIYA.

  • Right ON!!!

  • merveilleuse interprétation ! bravo *****

  • wow, genious

  • Golly... they made quite an energy there, didn't they!!

  • This has energy same as the metal music. I love both classical and metal. I have CDs 50:50 approximately.

  • I agree 100%

  • I'm always promoting the fact that Vivaldi's music shares many traits with rock and metal (which is certainly true) in an effort to introduce more people my age (18) to it! I truly believe they could get into this kinda stuff! Plus, with a movement like this, well, everyone knows and likes it anyway

  • Amen to that brother XD

Check out Marc Minkowski's redition of Baroque music, you'll be surprised by what he can do ;-)

  • Vivaldi was a celebrity of his time. So his music shares some characteristics with a popular music like rock. But I don't see anything else in common.

  • Well, I wasn't thinking it actually sounds like rock, but what I mean is several things. For example, the alternation between solo and tutti calls to mind the verse/chorus treatment of 'songs', especially as the tuttis usually bring back a previous theme. Also the driving rhythms giving that instant gratification feel to the music. Also the exploration of what new 'sounds' one can get out of a certain group of instruments employed again and again. Plus the length of movements, circa 3 minutes!

  • Really increible! Amazing...lightly and heavy at same time! I feel as I'm being under summer storm...lighting, storms hiting...

  • WOW!!! GREAT!!! ("\=^_^=/")

  • I like how he looks like hes having so much fun while he plays. I would be too!

  • AMAZING!!

  • wow...the audience needs to lighten up.

  • Amazing ensemble. I saw them in Berkeley, CA, and it was like nothing I have ever seen before.

  • I wonder why Fabio played with a modern setup violin here...

  • That's not a modern violin. Its the baroque violin he always plays with.

  • you are right, I just wonder that why the fingerboard of this baroque violin is unusual long.

  • Well, probably because there's no set standard on how violins (baroque or modern) should be made. It depends on the region in Europe or elsewhere the violin was made. It goes for other instruments as well.

  • That is actually a modern set up. He is most definitely using gut strings, but the bridge and attachment of the neck are definitely modern. It looks like the size of the hall is rather large. It's possible that he was afraid that a baroque fiddle may not project in such a large space.

  • Actually, it is a modern violin with gut stings and baroque bow, the neck protrudes at the modern angle, and the bridge is quite modern.

  • This is a modern set up because Biondi's violin is a modern adaptation of the Gagliano (XVIIIth century master violinmaker) violin of his former teacher, Salvatore Cicero. Like 99% of ancient violins, they have been remade to match modern criteras (more power) replacing the short neck by a long one. So it is almost impossible, at least strongly unrecommended, to remade baroque a violin after its modern transformation.

So Biondi probably just added gut strings.

  • a late reply but yes... he actually has, as far as i've observed, 2 violins. 1 that's truly baroque and this one in "baroque setup" but with a modern neck and surprisingly a modern bridge.

Check out his Vivaldi concerto RV 564 ...he use his other baroque violin there.

  • I noticed that too, presumably this is a baroque violin that got modified at the hands of the 19th century instrument butchers (like most of the best instruments), but was of such high quality that it's still worth using in this context.

  • fabio biondi does he nest improvs!

  • Bravissimo!! Europa Galante is the best Baroque ensemble. Danke schön!! :D
