Laurel had the best character development. She started as the new girl in school, shy, aloof, cold and city snob. She really blossomed and started to let her guard down. She stopped having those long, black painted nails and became more as the next door girl. Mark is definitely more happier with Laurel. He was more passionate, with Jen he's always afraid to break her heart and Jen is just more fragile than Laurel. Laurel let's the claws out when she wants.

Yes its true all the way till the end, she open up more and more and its lovely, and as an actress its good to be able to see kristen playing othe emotions than just 'oh looka t my ice queen face,' lol. I love Laureals develepments through out, notice how her clothes have changed too, they are more suited to her age and brighter.

it's really hard to be open and show your weaknesses to everyone, esp since laurel had been hurt before. i understand that. nevertheless, laurel grew to be able to trust and open up about herself and her love for mark. love is such a risk.
