When I was a kid, we made ice cream in ziplock baggies-one gallon bag had Ice in it, the other all the ingrediants to make the ice cream. I don't know how this worked, but we had to shake and shake the bags until the ingredients reached the correct consistancy. it was insane! Im glad you uploaded this vid because it will be much easier to make ice cream now!
I would love to know how can use this recipe to make different flavors of ice cream... in which stage should I add in cocoa powder or green tea powder if i want to?
@TheAnnalization if strawberry use strawberry jam if chocolate chocoa powder and any fruit flavour use jam on it right before you put it in the freezers and if there are any other flavours ask me i may know hope this help subscribe to me if helps
@AYRsniper because this way you can put anything in it you want. for example, i have never ever seen pretzel icecream, but it does sound rather good. and i wouldn't be able to get it unless i made it
Nice video. I've been interested in making homemade ice cream for quite some time, but always felt that I had to have an ice cream maker. I will be using this method really soon because I miss having ice cream in my house. With all the toxic chemicals in store-bought ice cream this would be a great way to make my own. Thanks for the great video.
Really an interesting video. My only issue is it'd be nice to have the measurements int he video rather than having to go to another website to get them. ^^; Otherewise this was great! Good to know I can make my own ice cream without paying high dollar for an ice cream maker.
@TarrynWarryn So glad you enjoyed the video. Sorbet is definitely worth trying! It will freeze harder than ice cream because it doesn't have the fat. Two things to help this: You can add a shot of liquor to keep the sorbet from freezing so hard, or break it into chunks and whirl it in the food processor or blender until smooth after freezing. Good luck and have fun! Even if you don't end up with a smooth sorbet, just call it a granita and serve it anyway. :)
@erinsfoodtopia Thanks for fast reply! I'll be trying this out this weekend, will let you know how it turns out. (",) Just on the liqour front - what is the maximum amount of alcohol i could put in without running risk of the entire thing not freezing?

@TheAnnalization This technique should work for any ice cream recipe. Green tea ice cream would be yummy! Good luck.

OR in ten minutes you can go to the grocery store and buy some pre-made ice cream. Save yourself half a day.

Excellent video! Do you think this freezing method would work for home made sorbet without an ice-cream maker? Thanks!

@TarrynWarryn If you use 3 tablespoons or less per quart then it should be fine. Hope it works! :)
