There are many reasons for the flood, but here are a few: the high water picks up sediment on the river bottom and deposits it on beaches therefore making them larger (??) it also produces warmer backwater behind the new sandbars for native fish which thrive for that type of pre-dam environment.

@WilliWauller yah we r learning about it, they r doing it because they need more sand bars and pools for endangerd fish
