That song is in turn directly inspired by Chopin, John said so himself. It's just chromaticism man, you can't put a copyright on the chromatic scale...

@Lotion5150 I believe he's talking about the Chopin piece etude op.10 no.2 in Am. It has extensive chromatics.. gets confused for flight of the bumblebee all the time.
