i dont know much about him as a coach, as im younger and never grew up watching him coach my saints or the other teams he did coach... but he seems like he wants the best, strives to be the best just from the tirades here on youtube about him and his team not doing good enough,
its a slap in the face for him to be told he needs to quit,,, he isnt the kind to quit,,, and the dude is hilarious
mora never got the respect he deserved....he took the new orleans saints to the postseason for their first time in their then 21 year history during his first year as a head coach.....he also built the foundation for an indianapolis colts team that prior to his arrival had only made the playoffs once since moving from baltimore a decade and a half earlier...
I've seen it time after time when a coach becomes emotionally unwrapped (Not in a Dick Vermeil way) he's lost his influence. The whole time Mora coached in the USFL I never saw this kind of behavior.
Dungy like some coaches just rode off success of a well talented team, nothing more. I dont think Dungy is that great of a coach and had someone else been the coach, they would probably won more then 1 SB.
what happened was colts management wanted mora to fire his offensive coordinator, or he would get fired. he didn't want to fire his friend to save his own skin, so he got the boot. real stand up guy, wish he got another chance to coach
@NYG5 It's a business, and even if the offensive coordinator was his friend, if he's not doing his job well enough, then the head coach needs to fire him. Pro Football is like any other business. If someone is performing their duties well enough, then they don't need to have the job anymore.

I think this was right before he got fired. He must have sucked as coach because Dungy came in right after and they started winning big time then. The only major difference was the coach; not much else changed.
Dungy's more laid back. At least that's the vibe I get from him. It wasn't that Mora was bad, he just was a very emotional and truthful coach. People need to be built up, and honesty sometimes is not the best policy. Look what happened when Mora agreed Michael Vick was going to get his son fired on Fox Radio. In fact, Michael Vick did get his son fired as head coach - more or less.
Of course, Mora Sr. ended up quiting his Fox SPorts job. Mora's a good guy, he just rubs people the wrong way.
Well, Manning came into his own as a bona-fide superstar quarterback. I think Dungy's better as a coach, but he has had Manning at the top of his game for the last few seasons.
It's nice to see men like us exist. Men that work our f'ing asses off and get nothing for it, but grief and lots of it. Women might not like it, but sometimes we're a little more human than they are.
@fgeorge76 Amen. Anyone who's ever coached before knows exactly how he feels. Good for him. Fuck all these haters making fun of him. They don't know shit.
Did he wet his panties too???

His son can't coach thats what got jr. fired. So now he is free to coach college football as he expressed.
