@tanajah14 It wasn't that painful actually. It took awhile for the scar tissue to heal up, though. It just felt like you were getting lightly pkoed by several sewing needles. I hardly felt anything. So, don't be nervous about the pain. As far as the touch-up goes, I haven't had to have one yet. Mine is still as noticable as ever. I got mine November 17, 2010 and its been here ever since.

The ink tasted pretty bad but that was the worst of it. No pain at all. I have heard people say that it was painful for them though.
