Really really loved the ending to the Answer. When the credits roll and you see Aigis staring into the sky you can tell that Persona 3 has sadly ended.
But I'm still happy that She's returning along with Akihiko and Mitsuru.

@DevaliousL Ya because in games like persona it's almost as you can feel what the characters are going through. Also I never get bored of it either. I may end up putting it down for a month or so but I always end up coming back to it. I get bored of FPSs' after a while and don"t come back

...Now that I'm done with the Answer, I'm truly sad that it's over. No sequel, no continuity nods of any kind. It just ends here. I suppose it's better that way.
The characters are much more interesting in my opinion, although I guess it's a little dark for an anime. (More so than P4)

I'm glad Atlus had the guts to kill off your character, a lot of jrpgs go for the wimpy ending where the character is heard saying "I'm going back, they need me" or some trash like that.
from what i have read, i think youre confusing Persona and SMT. theyre two different things. the english localization tends to confuse the two, due to the SMT label being put on all (?) games. see, the thing is, Persona is known as Persona in Japan not as SMT: Persona, iirc.
but yeah, i have to agree with what you said about The Answer being an epilogue and solidifying things. and i also agree a lot on the Disney comment. Persona games dont always have to be happy endings.

Inb4 it's used as a plot element in P5 to summon Messiah.
Also, inb4 the entire plot of P5 revolves around stopping Elizabeth (and probably Aigis, too) from bringing Minato back. It kinda fits if you think about it. Igor doesn't really approve of Elizabeth's actions...and she's already left the Velvet Room, too. Would make sense for him to try and stop her.
@Revan579 I don't think you're told WHY she plans to do it. The only thing you learn is that she leaves the Velvet Room in order to attempt to bring him back, and that if her powers alone are not enough to do this, she will call upon the powers of those that knew him.
It's probably just because she doesn't want him to be stuck as a seal for all eternity.
And yes, you learn this in P4, but it has no effect on the story. It just ties the two games together.

You have to wonder, though, what happens to Minato. In the bonus boss fight of P4, it's revealed that Elizabeth left the Velvet Room to find a way to save Minato from his fate, so it's bound to come up in a later game. What I'm wondering is, since Minato -- the Great Seal -- is the only thing stopping Erebus from bringing Nyx into the world of the living, and Elizabeth's trying to take him away from there, does that make her a villain?

I agree, but if you watch persona trinity soul Akihiko can't summon his persona anymore because of a certain age. I bet the others can't summon their personas too because their adults already.....
Am i the ONLY persona who wants P5 to be a whole new game instead of the protags from P3-4 coming back. Seriously i want a whole new game with an all new setting with all new characters just like the other games.
@MannyFresh1254 chances are that they will change it a bit. seeing as the ps3 is more powerfull hardware then the ps2 and psp. however before it releases it will take some time i think.... catherine didn't do well, and that just released. meaning they aren't far into development of the new persona AND have a lower budget. my guess is that it'll release 2012 likely with a more third person camera then camera above the room. i wonder if they'll change the combat to be more ffvs13 (not turn based)
@MannyFresh1254 No, I want new characters/settings for P5. Let's face it, even if we wanted the old characters back in a sort of sequel game, we know it won't happen. SMT doesn't usually link its games together (besides for the minor cameo and such) and for the Persona series, the games have never been linked from what I know of. So I say let everybody dream of having Minato come back. We know he won't. Maybe they'll be some hint of his fate in P5, but he won't be the MC anymore.
@xXxNoctisxXx8 That's basically one of the few links connecting Persona 3 to Persona 4. With the way Persona 3 ended, I would honestly be disappointed if SMT attempted at creating a sequel game of sorts for P3 when the whole game was centered around Tartarus and the Dark Hour, which disappeared. The Answer portion of FES solidifies the ending even more, serving as the epilogue of sorts. From what I know, SMT isn't like Disney where nobody dies and everybody is happy in the end.
@RawrImPinoy515 umm, SMT did link P4 and P3FES together, the whole "Persona's are Shadow's" thing was a huge part of the main scenario for P4 and if you finish Marget's social link (Elizabeth's sister) She'll explain about Minato/MC from P3 and what happened to him and why Elizabeth is no longer in the velvet room.
@RawrImPinoy515 Every Persona game has been linked to the previous one in some way. Be it a cameo or direct sequel. Persona II has a character from Persona I in it, and Persona II also has a direct sequel. Persona IV has a character from III in it as well.

Elizabeth is working on changing human nature to not secretly wish for death, so that Nyx can be purged and Minato's sacrifice can be lifted.
@Nazuiko Actually the JOKER is only involved in persona 2, and although it appears in both versions it's not the same JOKER. And even though characters from persona 1 were playable in both games they don't remain in the party long enough to be considered a "main", instead they're just "playable".
Yeah Minato's never coming back, Maya did in EP but since reality was changed so that she wasn't dead I'm guessing it was a special exception, course M's not really dead so who knows?
@RawrImPinoy515 In short: Its plausible that P5 will have the MCs working with at least some of the MCs from 3 (namely Yukari, Junpei, and Akihiko, along with Souji) to rescue THE MC.

When Persona 3 got remade into Persona 3 FES, an enchanced version, it featured an extra story mode which was set 2 months after the final battle. The new Story mode was called The Answer. On that mode, the difficulty would be equal to Hard and would be much harder than the regular story. You would play as Aigis this time, exploring the abyss of time to answer the questions left at the end of the regular story.
Oh so it's from The Answer. I'm playing it right now actually, haven't beaten it yet. I just got confused by the description saying Episode Aigis. Anyway, thanks!
@vaan123456789 Atlis and Shin Megami Tensei gave an update to some questions asked on Face Book by the big Persona 3 group, who i am a member with. If you look at their pictures, one of them is of the update. It mentions that they are looking at bringing back Minato, though it might not be until Persona 7. I hope they dont wait that long, but there is hope. Just letting you know.

@papuruka I spoke to one of the people who run that fb page, he is pretty sure its real, though if it isnt, alot of people are going to be really unhappy. The guys boss is the one who got it in the mail so they are pretty sure its authentic. i hope it is real

ANd if you complete persona 4 i think Margret mentions her younger sister "Elizabeth" leaves the Velvet room to try and free Minato from the seal because she falls in love with him. @drockman92 yeah,try get the armour of light and shoe of light from messiah. And lucifers blade (450dmg 100%hit +10 stats to all ). Get the persona orpheus tales too inorder to defeat elizabeth. (to get orpheus tales u must max all social link in 1 walkthrough.) Search >gamefaqs.com< if u have other question. :)
@chewinggum56 i have read that orpheus thelos would be very helpful, but i could not max out the social links before i had to give the game back. of the things you listed, i only got lucifers blade. doesn't the fused weapon masakado's katana have the same effects of lucifers blade, though? just asking, since i almost never use anything besides a 1h sword.
@drockman92 Yeah, Not only the katana but all type of weapon like bow,spear,gloves and other etc..... can also have the same effects as lucifer blade as long u fused with the r ght persona. Make sure u also complete all of Elizabeth quest inorder to get rare persona and complete compendium to 100%.

@RawrImPinoy515 umm, SMT did link P4 and P3FES together, the whole "Persona's are Shadow's" thing was a huge part of the main scenario for P4 and if you finish Marget's social link (Elizabeth's sister) She'll explain about Minato/MC from P3 and what happened to him and why Elizabeth is no longer in the velvet room.

@RawrImPinoy515 Every Persona game has been linked to the previous one in some way. Be it a cameo or direct sequel. Persona II has a character from Persona I in it, and Persona II also has a direct sequel. Persona IV has a character from III in it as well.

Also, p3 and 4 are connected (they're also loosely connected to the first 2, since they're the same universe), as is revealed clearly in the Post-game. Elizabeth is working on changing human nature to not secretly wish for death, so that Nyx can be purged and Minato's sacrifice can be lifted.

@Nazuiko Actually the JOKER is only involved in persona 2, and although it appears in both versions it's not the same JOKER. And even though characters from persona 1 were playable in both games they don't remain in the party long enough to be considered a "main", instead they're just "playable".
Yeah Minato's never coming back, Maya did in EP but since reality was changed so that she wasn't dead I'm guessing it was a special exception, course M's not really dead so who knows?

@Dexter158 Episode Aigis isnt the correct name for it.
When Persona 3 got remade into Persona 3 FES, an enchanced version, it featured an extra story mode which was set 2 months after the final battle. The new Story mode was called The Answer. On that mode, the difficulty would be equal to Hard and would be much harder than the regular story. You would play as Aigis this time, exploring the abyss of time to answer the questions left at the end of the regular story.

@vaan123456789 Atlis and Shin Megami Tensei gave an update to some questions asked on Face Book by the big Persona 3 group, who i am a member with. If you look at their pictures, one of them is of the update. It mentions that they are looking at bringing back Minato, though it might not be until Persona 7. I hope they dont wait that long, but there is hope. Just letting you know.

@papuruka I spoke to one of the people who run that fb page, he is pretty sure its real, though if it isnt, alot of people are going to be really unhappy. The guys boss is the one who got it in the mail so they are pretty sure its authentic. i hope it is real

!!! SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!!
He is still alive after battling Nyx and as you saw he used the "Great Seal" spell to win the battle against Nyx, but if you have not figured it out yet by playnig "The Answer" in FES then you wouldn't have known Minato lives. His soul is trapped in the "Seal of Nyx" meaning hes alive.......

ANd if you complete persona 4 i think Margret mentions her younger sister "Elizabeth" leaves the Velvet room to try and free Minato from the seal because she falls in love with him. And before you ask, yes Nyx is still alive but cannot decsend to earth because the Seal of Nyx is preventing it so life is save till it is broken. So to top it all off
MINATO(PS3 MC) DOESNT DIE HE GOES INTO A COMA AND DOESNT WAKE UP BECAUSE HE IS THE SEAL!

@drockman92 yeah,try get the armour of light and shoe of light from messiah. And lucifers blade (450dmg 100%hit +10 stats to all ). Get the persona orpheus tales too inorder to defeat elizabeth. (to get orpheus tales u must max all social link in 1 walkthrough.) Search >gamefaqs.com< if u have other question. :)

@chewinggum56 i have read that orpheus thelos would be very helpful, but i could not max out the social links before i had to give the game back. of the things you listed, i only got lucifers blade. doesn't the fused weapon masakado's katana have the same effects of lucifers blade, though? just asking, since i almost never use anything besides a 1h sword.

@drockman92 Yeah, Not only the katana but all type of weapon like bow,spear,gloves and other etc..... can also have the same effects as lucifer blade as long u fused with the r ght persona. Make sure u also complete all of Elizabeth quest inorder to get rare persona and complete compendium to 100%.

@massdestruction46 actually he is 17... to tell you the truth, i find something odd in his death... but anyway, wouldn't be cool if in P5 Philemon calls all the Protagonists of all Persona games (exept Maya or she could appear) of course they will have to talk and Atlus must give them the manga names (Naoya Toudou, Minato Arisato and Souji Seta) and they have to save him, from the seal... somehow. What about if they have to save Hamuko too... even if they are in parallel universe, and Shinji :D
