USDM 240sx's 95 and up had a VLSD as an option, but the VLSD sux for drifting because it doesn't always lock, and the only stock S13's that came with a VLSD was the Super Hica models, but the super hica sucks for drifting because they have rear steering.

I personally think the s13 is the most beautifully styled of all the iterations of the 240sx. I actually have a '92 myself that's going to be road ready before the summer is out, hopefully. And the hatch has much better lines than the coupe, as well, at least in my opinion.

Fun fact: Every 240SX ever made was built on the island of Kyushu, Japan. I have no idea what made them decide to stop making this car... Bad decision. We need more sporty RWD 4 cyl. cars in this country!

yes stock ka and the base model does not have a diff but the se has a limited slip. the 98s are not worth the money just geta 95 and get a 98 front conversion

also it better to buy a 97-98 it will cost you atleast 1500 to convert the 95 not inlcuding matching paint and the shit load of time it will take you to track down the parts.

any year 240 is a good year haha, and you can drift wtih ANY rwd car, ive seen trucks (not recomended) as well as mid engine cars like a feiro and a mr2 (which is harder since the engine is in the back, different balanec)

It had 4 wheel steering at the time.. I never really saw it to be a problem while drifting, but I don't like it at high speeds. So I did disable it. I got a non hicas power steering pump and resivior alone with a hicas eliminator kit off ebay, the blue one.. it's about $120.

VLSD came stock in a lot of nissans. They are good for awhile, then get worn out. They use friction, or heat to lock up. HLSD is a good option, they came out of skylines I believe and are on ebay so often. Welded is the cheapest, and best way if you're going to start drifting, but it sucks for daily driving. I am replacing my welded diff for a hardly used vlsd though. It got annoying.

YEah, i go welded for my events; only takes about 20 minutes or so to get the dif in and out with the right tools.

But if you have a VLSD, what happens is it has a special fluis that shears quickly, and when it does it gets think, and locks up the wheels. Whgen the start to get worn out, all you have to do is change the fluid. I change mine about ever 6 months. There is a special nismo type you can get that works faster, and keeps it from hunting.

It's not the drift spec. It was one of the first models that came out for the s13 from megan racing. It's 3" catback. Paid a good amount actually, and it's been worth it. A good two years and it's still in great shape.

Don't worry, I don't do this crap on the street. I make sure no cars are around, and this was out a port that my dad worked at after hours.
