  • if i had an angle that was 42 degrees and 50 minutes how would i solve that?

  • I saw this in Math Class!

  • ummm... why is a bigger than b ?

  • Test today thanks you so much!

  • It's actually like 2nd grade math once you get the hang of it ( Im in 7th grade btw. It shouldn't be hard!) Thanks though, I have a BIG math test in this timorrow and I just wanted to get my facts straight :)

  • what program do they use to make these videos

  • OMG thankyou big math test tommrow and didnt get this :)

  • interesting fact- Pythagoras was a vegetarian

  • 8th grade math

  • mate this is awesome i always learn something here

  • learn this before trigonometry!

  • I love this theory! Just a brush up, and totally well taught

  • Its a popular misconception that the Pythagorean Theorem applies only to right-angled triangles. Its due to the notion of the shortest distance between two point being a straight line. Indeed, the Pythagorean Theorem also applies to non right-angled triangles as long as the lines between the point are proportional.

  • CONT.

    Simplest example: think of distance a as being formed by three semicircles, b four semicircles and c five semicircles. Since the semicircles are proportional, r is equal for each semicircle; apply said notion of the shortest distance (a=6r, b=8r and c=10r) and voilà: a²+b²=c².

  • love it

  • thank you very much.

  • nice video. here is another way to solve a^2 + 21^2 = 35^2 that you might like: use the difference of two squares formula.

    a^2 + 21^2 = 35^2

    => a^2 = 35^2 - 21^2

    => a^2 = (35 - 21)(35 + 21) = 14(56) = 784

    and then continue as usual. sometimes this method is easier than squaring each number and then subtracting the results.

  • Sal...you are a great human being. I really appreciate what you are doing.

  • I love it how when Sal's taking on big concepts he just takes it to a whole new level. Thumbs uped this video!

  • first!

  • ilove you man i really respect you. My math teacher was talking so much about you and i know youll be so helpful for me in june for my geometry regents exam :D
