  • Once again our "expert" is attempting to review a receiver in proximity to a laptop computer... this is not ideal.. Additionally he's using a transmitter (outdated) in direct proximity of the receiver yet not feedback!!! I've had this scanner for several years and it perform great. If he's actually talking through a repeater it is an amazing testimony to this receiver as most would be squelched by the transmitting handheld being so close! Check the eham review.

  • Is the radio very small or the cat enormous?

  • @1535995 big at cat his name is bandit, thanks for watching there are some other bandit videos comin

  • So is the problems low volume and the slight hiss when its receiving? I'm interesting to know more about this radio because I'm looking to get something at least slightly better then my current Uniden UBC92XLT. And the Icom IC-R5 and RX7 are both candidates.

  • no stay away buy the ubc 3500xlt, the low volume is one half of the problem even when on max i sometimes struggle to hear anything even in my bedroom and the hiss is mainly louder than the transmisson your trying to listen to

  • @BlackGoldEstates I actually got one anyway and I must say I'm quite satisfied with it, I've had it for about a week now and the only down side with it I can find is the low volume. But pretty much every one else that has done a review of it says that. But its loud enough for me I got it at about setting 25 most of the time. The only time its really quiet is on some really faint AM transmissions. All and all its a definite step up from my 92XLT the 3500XLT is about 100€ more over here.

  • @ViewerSonic try it in a car its a no go i am doing another video as i have found more issues

  • @BlackGoldEstates I have tried it in my car and yes it's not loud enough to hear it while driving. How ever I mostly use it in doors at home so it's not that much of a problem. I mostly use it with a specialized antenna for the 79mhz band which is the Police and emergency services here. Apart from the low volume I haven't found anything with it that annoys me or that i consider to be a problem. Its a well built and sensitive (with a good antenna) scanner.

  • ok thanks

  • Interesting. I think you may have a bad unit. I'm getting mine on Tuesday so I'll give you a report then.

  • @cnick6 how did you get on? with icom scanner
