try running it with 1 ram dimm if it doesnt that means u shorted out the mobo so u need to rescrew everything, thats if ure lucky u didnt fuck up ur mobo. if it does, add another dimm if it doesnt run try it on another slot and so on. i would say it will run with 3 dimms inside but not 4..good luck
you need 3x DDR3 (ddr3 only) ram cards, a pack of 3x 2gig each is perfect and gives you 6 gig total, WARNING windows 64bit works best, win32bit only allows for 3 gig RAM max win64bit shows full 6 gig
Hello. i have a bigger problem with the same motherboard. All my wiring is double checked and everything else is functional. But, when i turn on the system, it instantly turns off........ The system is within a cosmos s case. Is their a problem if the QC PASS cable of the front I/O panel of the case is not conected???
I have an Asus P6T (not deluxe) and it seems to have died after only two months. The computer now powers on but there is no monitor signal nor do the keyboard and mouse light up as normal, seems like all the ports on it are dead. However, the power and reset buttons still glow inside the mobo. : (
Without even reading what fixed it. I knew it was your selection of RAM. Makes sense you made the mistake too. Seems you're not very thorough on quite a bit. Including wire management, I was wondering what I was looking at in your video when I realized it was the Amazon forest having a bad day.
Read the Manual about how to set up the Memories. It's not like dual mode setup. If its not starting at all then you got toasted or just broken memories. Asus P5 and P6 won't start with broken memories at all.
i did buy this motherboard it arrived yesterday i wounder is it wourht to have it or was teh asu spampage 2 extreme better im not a fan of soundmax but ther boarditself looks amazing
i have a similar set up to yours.i had a similar problem, i had to unplug the computer like 6-8 times until i go to the bios and reset everything to default settings. My over clock on my ram was causing some problems. I have the asus p6t deluxe no problems anymore. Have you ever been able to log in to the bios?
hmm i have the same mobo but its not the deluxe version, when i turn it on everything works fine but theres nothing on the screen and it turns off by it self after like a few seconds PSU= OCZ stealthXstream 600w
After looking at the video, your RAM might be at fault. The deluxe board has a blue LED light up right next to the RAM slots. I'm not sure if the regular board has that LED.
Have you checked to make sure your RAM is on the Qualified Vendors List?
I didn't spend much time investigating. I Googled '790i motherboard socket 1366', saw reviews written last month show up in the results, and assumed that the boards existed.
I had tried using both modules of ram earlier, which didn't work. One of the troubleshooting tips mentioned using just one module at a time to make sure they were both working.
I think you got exactly the same problem as I have; we got the wrong memory. I bought 3gb triple channel kingston memory with 8x128mb on each memory module (1024mb) but the User Guide says:
This motherboard does not support memory modules made up of 128mb chips.
So I think that's the problem. I'm going to get new memory and I hope it works then. Only have to wait for my GPU. You got a nice system btw, what case do you use?
I'm curious, why are you running only Dual channel RAM when you can take advantage of the crazy amount of bandwidth with the Core i7 and get some Triple channel RAM?
thats y its not working your ram is 1.65Volt much for a core i7 and the mobo
According to Intel CPU spec, DIMMs with voltage setting over 1.65V may damage the CPU permanently. We recommend you install the DIMMs with the voltage settings below 1.65V. According to Iain Bristow, spokesman for Asus, the sticker had been placed on the motherboard after Intels recommendation.

since u do know about pcs i got a questions theres a guy 15 years old that posted a video of gta iv max settings
this is hes configuration
3 nvidia 280 GTX
the 790i ultra motherboard
and then the core i7 extreme
8 gb of corasair dominator 2 ghz ram
so my question is can this be true since a core i7 is another socket then the 790i sli
also he says he got the money couse he works at microsoft if u want i can link the video
taltigolt 3 years ago
It's possible. There are some new 790i boards out there (by Zotac, for example) which support socket 1366 (for core i7).

No its not possible. There are no 790is that are Core I7 ready.

Anted 900 really is a nice case! I use a Coolermaster CM 690, only have to get my GPU and memory tommorow and then I can use it! =D Yeah!

Thanks. I used an Antec Nine Hundred, it's quiet and cool and looks pretty good, too.

I was able to get the Dual Channel RAM for about $50, way cheaper than some of the Triple Channel stuff out there.
