Ariel does not make their own engines. It's a supercharged Honda engine (2 litre or something), think it's the one from Civic Type-R.

the atom is a amazing car no dough but it is a bit of a toy , it had no roof, no wind screen and no doors, and no insurance company will cover it, I tried to get one and no one in the states would insure it lol

word, that may be the case in Oregon, but in Connecticut no insurance co will cover it...I agree man its an amazing car...in a straght line i think a Yamaha R1 will take it but the only car that would take it to 60 would be a Veryron maybe a CCX but not many cars can...around a track would be a different story i think , but it is a sic car

actualy, clarkson races an ariel atom against a cbr600rr round a track and its 4 seconds slower than the ariel an seen as a 675 is 3 seconds quicker than a cbr600rr and all other 600's round the ascari track, it could end up bein a gud race

true it is amazing bang for your bucks. But can you use if for work or in the winter not really. whereas with the CSL you can. Don't get me wrong i love the ariel atom and as a track weapon its awesome but the CSL is both good on the track and good on the public road.

Yes, from that perspective you are correct...Or are you? :-) CSL, as I recall, is a stripped out version of the M3, and it does not have an air-conditioner or a radio/navigation system (I'm not sure what other creature comforts it's missing). Also, suspension is stiffer, so I doubt driving the CSL every day would be all that pleasant. I think just the regular M3 would be a MUCH better everyday car. That's just my opinion though :-)

Atom is 2..8 sec to 60 and 8 sec to 100 MPH M3 is around 4.4- 4.9 sec and a lot more to 100. The Atom uses the Hinda S2000's 4 banger with a supercharger which makes i have 300 BHP.
