  • Wow! Now I know what all those weird creatures are now!

  • How could someone dislike this?

  • 7:09 "i'm a badass" lol

  • its pizza the hut lol

  • I remember watchin this as a kid

  • at 3:18 to 2:24 is where i lol'd hard! XD

  • All this effort and then George Lucas just replaces it with shite CGI.

  • It looks like the real monsters are inside Jabba itself....

  • THE rancor rulezzzzzzzzzz

  • i lol'd when someone was putting makeup on c3po's face

  • is it me or does carrie fisher look so damn sexy in that lingerie

  • It's amazing how much hard work they had to go through back then to make these movies. The problem with George Lucas continuously altering the original trilogy is that future generations won't be able to see how the unaltered original trilogy was revolutionary for it's time, Wizard of Oz didn't need it.

  • @GuitaristDog87 I agree, man. At least on the standard DVD releases of the original trilogy, there were unaltered, theatrical cut versions of the three movies on the second disc of each. Except for restoration work, they were pretty much identical to the original movies as they were shown in theaters.

  • "If I was drinking porter it'd be a perfect job.."

  • wow...not a single bit of blue screen.

See George? You have people who put their heart and soul into their craft, you get a movie with heart and soul.

  • @superhamzah85 Yeah, fuck CGI

  • @reviewreviewer1 ???? "the prequels are great, they have better stories and characters" R U Joking lmao first how do the prequels have a better story and "caracters" seeing how you spilled this word leads me to believe you don't know what it means

  • @Spartacus547 its spelled not spilled man your no better haha

  • WOW, How rude... It's always funny getting caustic troll replies a year after the fact. Ah well, good thing there are people like you, who'll follow GL into the mouth money, otherwise his goiter might starve to death. Oh wait he'll always have plastic to sell. As someone that started their film career because of the original trilogy, I think I'll stay on Lawrence Kasdan and Gary Krutz's side. I'll take character dev & story over FX and fanboys anyday... So yer a big prequel and Indy 4 fan, eh.

  • @ravennome The prequels are great, they have better stories and caracters than the OT and Kurtz ain`t a good writer, at all, nor is Kasdan.

  • @reviewreviewer1 You seriously think that phantom menace have better story and caracthers then the OT ?

  • @traxlife Well caracterd yes better then IV but not then V and VI, but story wis e it`s the leasrt of the 6, but II and III both have better caracters and stories then the OT which is 2/3 of the PT and what I refered too!!!!!!

  • @reviewreviewer1 You seriously think that ;Jar Jar Binks,Padme,Little Anakin,Qui gon? are better written, more complex caracters then Obi-wan Kennobi, Darth Vader , Tarkin, , Luke and Han Solo ? You are simply too much influence by the fact it was the star wars of your generation. I think in every way the OT is superior to the prequels, the Phantom Menace was an insult to star wars. i tolerated AOTC, enjoyed ROTS, but saying the story and the caracters are better in the preq. is plain stupid

  • @traxlife Well Padme yes we get too know a lot more about how she feels about her duties, and her frustrated side is more developped and her kider side asweel,, both the kind, angry and responsible side were fleshed out more. n II we even learn her personal tastes and interests, Qui Gon is similar too old Obi Wan, but his rebelious and unorrthodox nature and his reactions in fights are developped more pkus h ha an arogant side. Little Anakin had much more defined dreams and.............

  • @reviewreviewer1 I liked your comparison of caracters and i agree with you, but i think they should have made anakin less rebelious from the begening and really become evil over a tragedy, or seduction of power.

  • @traxlife .. and if you ask me it`s something worth fearing, I mean hiw can you not see a thrat when you see all ther power, all I didn`t see was them doing harm, and the horrible thing they are trying to prevent,, but that is exactly the point, cause we are supposed too s the threat and what they try prevent, not the result of threat, cause then it wouldn`t just be a threat and our heroes would have failed, by that logic a guy with a gun is only enacing when he shoots someone!!!!!!!

  • @traxlife ..................... padding, and really developped qithout stalling, why would the stories in II and III be less then those in the OT, I mean they were more complex, and there were more of them, and they had more detailsm and build up, ere developped more, more multisided!!!!!!!!

  • @reviewreviewer1 Lets eliminate the disgrace of a movie called TPM. For AOTC I agree the story was more complex, they were much more plots , but i think the general plot is un-interesting. The plots in OT were simple, id give you that, but they were far more interesting and clear. ROTS was good movie, i liked it, but they are scenes i don't care about. In OT,i care about every scenes. I really love star wars, i grew up in both trilogys. Id like to know if you prefer the prequels over the OT ?

  • @traxlife Well oke but I exolained why I like the caracters. Regarding which trilogy I like more, well I truely love both, but I think II and III are the best of them all, truely superiour but I the least but judt alittle so overall the PT beats the OT. Why would the story in II be uninteresting it concerned the fate of a 1000 year peacefull republic, and how to deal with the threat of war, also it was very fleshed out!!!!!!!

  • @reviewreviewer1 ROTS was good. Well i found AOTC un-interesting because we dont feel the threat, most of the action is going on Geonosis far from the republic. Droids and clone with altered controled emotions are fighting. It doesnt look compeling, and that we have to save the galaxy against an imminant threat. Id recommend you take a look at RedLettermedia "attack of the clone review" that capture the problems i had with AOTC. Its worth to watch ! Excuse my English, its my second language.

  • @traxlife I don`t mind your English at all aslong as your nice and polite everthing is cool. Regarding Redlettermedia I saw the review 4 ties an have ever since been working on beco ming a review to counter his points. The threat is far away cause our heroes are succesfull, that`s the point, in that we see the threat but we only see the possibility of their actions, not their plans suceeding cause then our herous would have already failed, e see the droids and systems etc, so we se a threat.....

  • @traxlife Also why wouldnt Clones and droids be compwlling for one what they fight for so the stakes and conflixt are great ad concern people, so the citizens and cause are important and 2. the soldiers are Clones but althogh they are altered they have feelings and lifes with meaning so why wouldn`t threy bee compelling, and the droids are menacing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @reviewreviewer1 I understand your point, but i think it make it seems like the republic is jjust playing toys againts toys with the separatist. We dont even know wath the are separatist intentions. Well it was written acording to AOTC script that if a clone would act differant and showed emotions they were automaticly killed it. They are totally reformated like toys and obediant, they are tools and are not alowwed any relationships. The only independan are ARC clones, little less obediant

  • @traxlife Wel they are toys in an obediance sense, but thwey care for the republic and lke to br slive so they are good people who`s live have meaning so even tought they might feel less there licves have the samw meaning as tha of anyone else I mean I thik it`s wrong to discriminate, they can be used as tools but i the nd they have the meaning of humans, and there lives hold meaning!!!!!!!!!

  • @traxlife I still don`t get why the war should have to change people the threat is that i will if it`s not preventwd and that is what our heroes are trying to, and they succeed that`s why it doesn`t afect peopkle. But again for a possibility to be threatening it doesn`t need to happen cause it`s explained what will happen and is a possibility an we can imagine it, we don`t have too see it. For something to be threaten we need to know what i can do not too see it, I mean we are smart enough to...

  • @traxlife ..think in hyptheticals, I mean the point I find kind of unsophisticated, why eouldn`t a hyphothetical and a possible event not be menacibg, I mean we know what it can do, and why would a possibility need to happen for it to be menacing we know it can dio it asling as we are sophisticated and imsginative, hich a good audience is. Also or heroes ar trying to prevent it so it just shows they are succesfull, why would heroes have to fail for their actions too be meaningfull?/????

  • @reviewreviewer1 Well i think they should have included living non altered peaple in the bad situation, like naboo hostages from the TPM. I have been working on a new edited version of AOTC , trying to improve it. I used many software and worked with a team for many years , but we did not finished the project, when i will have more money ill finish it . I took great scenes from TPM and incorpored it to AOTC.

  • @traxlife Well why the Clones are good people, with good intentionas, and their alterations don`t make them any less moal, or good, just weak and maniputable, buyt this only makes them interesting, and they like bring alive, so they are good people with meaningfull licves which makes them worh caring for an the droids are evil enermies which are feasrless and powerfullm so we habe sto ng unstopabe merciless enemies and kinds heros, sio if you ask me the basis is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @traxlife .. th fact they succeed is what makes theie actions not wasted. Also the first film is mostly build up yoo the war and an opening battle, and the build up is supposed too be athreat, not a negaive event, but that something csn happen, a possibiliity, and our heroes succesfully fight to ptrevent, but it is still intersting cause we know what can happen, and the fact our heroes prevwbnt it make their actions more interesting and mreabningfull and have it happen would take that away!!!!!!

  • @traxlife ... interests, and more weaknesses. Oh and I comparred Padme and Anakin too Luke and Leiia. Well Han Solo was a cool caracter but not as multisides as Anakin Qui Gon or Padme, and not as nice. Darth Vader was complex sand a grea vilian but smetiomes a bit inconsistent, Gvernor Tarin was indeed awesome, and ub par with Episodes I`s caracters, but why would the atories i II and III be less, I mean they really gave a lot od screen time in II deveoppin the caracters and had no...........

  • @traxlife The plots behid the war we are suppoased to get hints about andwhat the seperatis want we know, they want to formate together, under Dooku aay from th aauthority of the republic, to join their armies too overwhelm th Jedi and attack and harm the republic which never did anything to them, is inocent and has the right of peace, too force them too agree with any demands they make which meas they want to force and steal from them soo exploit them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • with every film maker there are regrets. george said that if he had the money he had for the star wars 1-2-3 he could have made jedhi much better. and some of the things he wanted to do arein the directors cut movies on dvd.

  • at first i thought that first in 0:09 he said get his ass together lol

  • fix the sync

  • I wonder why princess leila or miss Fisher is having some cloth covering her body. hmmmm was it cold or was it the eyes of the guys she was afraid of hehe? 5:10

  • 4:57 Is that Greedo?

  • @ErichoTTA Highly unlikely...unless he's a zombie now.

  • Thanks for this, I remember this on tv. What was it called? This should be on DVD

  • Such beautiful monsters!

  • the worst thing on youtube videos...is the fucked up audio sync...maaaaaan! when i upload my vids i always test them ! oh come on....!

  • when i have problems with audio, i open two windows and mute one. then play audio off the other it makes up for it.

  • thanks for posting!

  • hey, hurry up and fix the fucking audio, would you?

I don't wanna have to come down there and see you over this.

  • I can hear it clearly. No wrong with the audio.

  • @varfordogjesus i think he means because the audio is laging throughout the video.

  • yeah, you can HEAR clearly, but the video and audio is like 20 seconds out of sync. lol

  • Can you sync the audio, total garbage, its like 20 seconds out.

  • the last star wars are so crap full with CG trash!!! they look like

a video game you can tell the difference inmediatly! with the

old star wars you have so much 3d and texture the eyes are

looking at a real object no CG crap!.

  • I agree fully. I want to WORK and TALENT in films, not shitty designed sketches uploaded to zbrush tweaked and then turned into some shitty unrealistic cgi creature. I want to see an artist roughly sketch something, then fuckin sculpt it, putting in the work no computer brain can. Humanity in films has become like reaching for the last piece of silver in a paper money ran world.

  • Episode I was the last film that had somewhat of a handmade feel to it. Episodes II and III felt totally sterile because they went fully HD. I felt totally disconnected. Entirely too reliant on CG to tell the story. When you have real sets and handmade creatures they will produce real performances from the actors.

  • mattdawg83686 I feel the same way. Esp with Ep II which is just a bad movie in all other departments, the coldness of the visual effects was just like the last nail in the coffin. Ep III's space battle suffers from this too, the unnatural movements of the fighters. But Ep I and VI don't have this problem.

  • imo, 1 and 2 were OK but ep 3 was just amazing , i think the space battles looked damn sweet, almost as awesome as battle over endor in ep 6

  • You are so right!!!

  • yep. Lazy hollywood style. Just film quick and add tons of CG that looks like shit. And they don't work hard at all it has to go fast. They dont do their homework like, say, Jurassic Park.

  • The inside of Jabba's like some slave ship.

  • genius

  • i have this on vhs tape

  • Lucas doesn't want this to be on DVD, ever! Why? Because with the words from his own mouth, "...special effects are just a tool, a means of telling a story...a special effect without a story are a pretty boring thing" which negates all the work he's done in the last 20 years!!!

  • Does it negate all those things?

People do change over time. And it's always easy to be suckered into a new fad (such as mass use of CGI).

  • fix the sound syncronisation

  • nice doc, but can you fix the syncing, its really annoying.

  • I've been finding a lot of videos like this lately; especially ones broken into several parts like this one. It seems the audio gets more off track in the later parts. What gives? Is this a You Tube problem, or something posters aren't doing right?

  • the vid is way out of sync

  • Yeah, I agree. This would've been great on the DVD - a nice addition to all that Fox studio squabbling with Alan Ladd Jnr.

  • hmmm, so thats how a Jawa look like.

  • This doc shows how the old ways were better in other depts, too, such as documentary-making! I'm amazed at the leisurely pace, the unpatronising tone, the way we're allowed to dwell for minutes at a time on shots and setups, and above all, the quietness, the way we're not constantly bombarded by crappy fast edits, loud music, and irrelevant pundits and talking heads. An amazing post, thankyou.

  • I love the part where they are in the Steambeck and Lucas is telling his minions how the scene with the Rancor should play out. Its interesting because I've always felt Jedi was the start of his transformation into the Lucas we know today. Everyone is sitting listening as he explains how the Gamorian should be slurped up like spaghetti, they all laugh like its the funniest thing they've ever heard. Fast forward to now when no one dares contradict him creatively. No wonder 1-3 are so bad.

  • @ravennome

Well they laughed because it was funny. Fuck you btw.

  • "That's played by me"

    I'd have died of laughter.

  • this entire youtube series is very interesting! REPS TO DEEPFRIEDMUPPET!!!!!!!!!!!

    EXCELLENT!!!

  • i love the *beeeeep* the camera makes.

  • Fisher called Jabba "John" on set. A reference to her pal, Belushi?

  • It's too bad they couldn't use this technology in the prequel trilogy. Sometimes CGI isn't the best solution to everything!

  • They still had a prop and creature shop based in England, for the prequels, up until a year ago a lot of the creature masks and puppets were kept there. I don't know where they are now - maybe some to be rotoscoped for toys, or used in an exhibition.

  • I saw the original R2D2 and C3PO at a smithsonian museum, but I don't know about any others.

  • mattdawg. Yoda being the shining example of this truth. Prequel Yoda is far more fake than Empire Yoda.

  • Jabba's as large as an elephant! Yow

  • This is great!!! thanx
