  • you are the best man. I´m not gay but i have to say i love you. I´ts just amazing. This step by step videos are awesome. I can learn a lot of things. Thank you.

My favourite army are the tomb kings. I would be happy if you could paint a tomb king or another special character as an example

  • i dont understand? i thought painting on a bare surface without a prime was a bad idea? :(

  • @Frias1014 Yes, I spray prime Duplicolor Grey Matte Primer, which looks VERY similar to bare surface plastic lol. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. No worries, I never paint on bare plastic =D

  • necros are so emo.

  • @Triclone8706 lol I know, he needs more friends

  • ahahah would be bad ass if u put spinners on the corps cart lol jus saying

  • @MCDonut415 That is the BEST idea I've ever heard! I'm going to figure out how I can do that right now! Thanks for the idea, I'm totally going to credit you if I can get it done =D

  • @WarbossTae ahahh no prob n mayb some tiny spring on it to make it look like it has some hydraulic :p

  • thank you so much for your great ogre tutorials! they're really helpful and made my ogres look great! =D

  • @MetalMaggo thanks! I'm glad the videos helped you out! I'm always interested in sharing what I know with the community. Best of luck with your Ogres!

  • Where did you get GW paiting schemes ? :)

  • @ShadowWowExp I took some color techniques from the Dreadfleet issue of White Dwarf (it had a great Army Painting article on Ogre Kingdoms) and some from what I could put together just by looking at product pictures.

  • Why the green stuff ?

  • @ShadowWowExp I think there was a really bad line where the figure didn't glue together exactly right lol

  • can u please do lizardmen

  • @MyConster Sure! I have great things planned for the Saurus Old Blood plastic figure GW released a few months back =D

  • dislikes*

  • 30 likes and 0 dilikes! epic

  • how do you hold your camera?!?!?!?!

  • @TheOlol13 I use a small tripod that i set p on the table to my left as I paint. I then zoom in and connect it to my computer, so the display comes up on the screen and I can see if the model is in focus or not. =D

  • @WarbossTae oh now i get it! ; )

  • Wow this was a long one but done very well. It was totally the kind I would usually listen to while painting myself. But instead I listened and watched off and on while plugging away at the office today. lol

I liked how you listed what paints you used as well as the times if you wanted to jump ahead. Just a heads up, if you put those time break downs in the description of the video people can literally click on the time and it will jump to that point in the video.

  • @VividAdventures2010 Well thanks for watching, my friend! I know when I watch one of Girlpainting's or APJ's vids, I have them playing in the background while i paint.

Thanks for the tip, I'm still not that savvy with the video description and time imbedding stuff, but I'll definitely try to fix that to help my future vids. Thanks again, for watching and for the suggestion!

  • Epic video man !!!

Really simple and easy to follow and with great results!

    Awesome paint job ^^

  • @kiteman321 Thank you! Really appreciate the kind feedback! Glad you enjoyed the video, despite its length =D

  • Hi ! AWSOME VIDEO dude :) !! I painted my 6 ogre (bulls) from the batallion set, in these colours. I just noticed this was for leadbelchers .. 0.o Do you paint youre ogre bulls the same way ? or other colours ..?

  • @ShadowWowExp Thank you! I've got a Bulls video a couple of vids back, I'll link it in the description for others who want to find it easily =D

  • @WarbossTae thx !

  • i watched the whole thing!!! couldn't stop.

  • @coladito1 WOOHOO! Thanks lol =D

  • @warbosstae Hey fella you have quiet a little following it seems, and your painting is great ever thought of commission painting as you can make a little cash to fund your plastic crack addiction :)

  • @TheFire933 Thank you! =D I actually paint for commission in my local area, but I've talked to some friends online and found that it would probably be too hard for me to do it, at this point in my life, for a side-business. My real life schedule is pretty iffy and its sometimes feast or famine for how much time a day I'm able to devote to the hobby. I do gots a fever, though. And as far as I know, the only perscription, is more GW!

  • I really love your videos and the loony personality :p I've been wondering what color you use for your bases? I recall you saying so in one of your videos, but I can't seem to find it...

  • @mraaschou Thank you for the compliment! I use Charadon Granite as a base, then lightly drybrush Calthan Brown, followed by Khemri Brown, followed by Dheneb Stone (lightest drybrush). When you use a good green flock after, I think it looks pretty nice =D

  • @WarbossTae Awesome, thanks a bunch! I really like how you do yours.. goes well with all the skin :D

  • @WarbossTae how do you hold your brush and 1 week till release!!!

  • @xelinfiltr8 I usually hold it between my thumb and first two fingers. This was a great question, because I hadn't even though about brush holding until just now and had to grab a brush and pretend to paint just to remember lol. You've inspired me to do a short video on how I hold my brushes =D

    ONE WEEK TO GO!!!

  • Great Taeturial Tae :-) I like the step by step approach. Really was fun to watch. One thing to note though, maybe Lewis could participate a little more ?

  • @Cabilis66 Thank you! I'll definitely get that guy more camera time. He's quickly becoming a fan favorite =D

  • I was doing the same thing. I've been working on some Everblight Shredders while your vid has been playing. Thanks for the mention bud and great tut!

  • @Generalsplatton lol thanks Splatton! Hope to see a vid on those Shredders soon =D

  • Great video, excellent set-up. Very informative. Please make more videos like this. Also really loved the soot on the Leadbelcher.

  • @Johnwilkesbouf Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video and new format!

  • Epic

  • @kickorybot thank you! =D It was an ogre-sized nightmare to film/edit/annotate

  • Tae, do your tutorials like this from now on!..I always find it so much more useful to see painting like this, not cutting from completed step to completed step! LOVE! :D

  • @gungrave001 Thank you! I really appreciate the positive feedback! I think I'll continue filming them like this and add the annotations with the skips to next steps for people who don't want to watch the whole thing. Hopefully that will make everyone happy! =D

  • @WarbossTae That sounds like an awesome compromise dude! :D You actually have some of the best tut's for Warhammer on YouTube! Plus you actually have a personality and make me laugh continually through your videos! Never change! <3!

  • Brill tut again fella! though i think ogres are harder to more advanced to paint due to the amount of skin to paint and skin is one of the hardest things to paint then ontop of that as it a huge amount of flesh they kinda need tattoos. Loving your guides i always listen to you on playlist and paint as it kinda relaxing and your painting the same stuff as me ;)

  • @TheFire933 Thanks! You're right, the size is a little daunting, and I also actually was afraid of the same thing, but when I used the washes to cover the skin, it turned out really great, and I got a lot done in a much shorter amount of time than I would have if I had to hand paint the shading. And you can always keep the tattoos simple, if you're going for the standard GW colors (Charadon Granite). Thanks for watching and for your feedback, I really appreciate reading it =D

  • Great vid mate. When will we see a overview of the ogres?

  • @zacret I hope to get them all together when I have them finished, maybe at my local hobby store, set them all up with some terrain for a great "family photo" wrap-up. We'll see how it goes =D

  • @WarbossTae Sounds good. On that note your still to show us the finished dwarfes in a good setup ;)

  • Awesome Taetorial!!! It was well worth the wait :P Keep them coming. Any chance of a Irongut?? Great work!!!

    Peace

    Zeggut

  • @ZeggutandRobot Thank you! I'm glad you like it! Definitely, going to do a Stonehorn Tutorial to complete the set, since I've already done a Bull and Leadbelcher, I thought "hey, why not?" lol Thanks for watching and for the encouragement =D

  • I would opt for change in music clips along the way. Reptition is mood killer.

  • @ooftaZone Good point! I was just thinking the same thing. An hour of any one track is too much. I've listening through Incompetech's other stuff to see what I can switch in.

  • Ogre Jesus for the WIN!!

  • @TheProphet21 lol I was so tired at that point, I didn't remember saying it til I watched it in editing =D

  • I cant find Tallarn flesh anywhere locally but have some other colors that are close. What would be a good substitute for it, GW and nonGW colors? Thanks

  • @TheProphet21 Hmm, I think that Vallejo comes out with really great alternatives for flesh and skin tones, I can't recall any of them off the top of my head, though, sorry! You could also do Dwarf Flesh from GW, though that will come out a little more red/orangey. Then, highlight with Dwarf Flesh and Dheneb Stone to tone it down for a similar effect =D

  • watching all these ogre vids you're putting up lately is making me want to start my own ogre army. but alas, my new years resolution was to not buy any more models until i paint all the ones i already have.

  • @TwoBrotherGames that's a great new years resolution! If I did that, I'd never buy another model lol because I have a ton of unpainted stuff. I hope you keep to it, my friend!

  • They all float down here!

  • @TheScheckig TIM CURRY, WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT HIDING IN MY SEWER GRATE!?! (runs away)

  • great to see you show the steps now like i said the videos would be great with it nice vid

  • @comissar1998 Thanks for the suggestion! It greatly helps out my vids, I think. If I can, I'll try to get them done in the older video tutorials as well.

  • LoL , Did you see all the VC stuff , wish one are you doing first (so i will order the same :P )

    :D looks pwn!

  • @Handegekke I know, the new models look great! I am probably going to start small and work my way up, thinking I'd probably go with.....hmmmm.......the MORTIS ENGINE!!! No, actually, I'm staying away from that one for a while, especially since there's already a painting tutorial for it in the new WD. I think I'm going to start with Isabella. I've always loved her character fluff, and the new model looks so nice (Finecast notwithstanding =P) Maybe some Black Knights, as well! =D
