Quite a change from Tom and Dick's first show on Feb.5,1967 when their guest stars were George Burns and Jack Benny.

This was an evolving process of course and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour were certainly cutting edge in easing America's Heartland into prime time counter culture entertainment.

Ths is a perfect example of Tom and Dick maintaining an all American 'caught up in the swirl' approach to the psychedelic display and music of Jefferson Airplane. The CBS eye was wincing.
