  • AAAH! This takes me back to 05 when I auditioned for the Henrico High school theatre specialty center (This monologue got me in lol)! ^_^ Nice job

  • Really fantastic! Even though you don't know the story or the character's given circumstances, I felt as though you still had a concrete character in mind. Usually when actors, even experienced ones, attempt a monologue without knowing the story, it seems bland of specific emotion and direction. Again, really fantastic!

  • wow you're really good. (:

  • Good job, u kinda remind me of franco

  • great work buddy ...ive just started acting 2 but im nowhere near your level

  • @NuageSilencieux P.S.- I'm glad you mentioned "those youtube videos." That's actually all I tried to do. I recorded straight onto youtube as I wanted to focus on a character and not try to supplement it with a false setting. It was an interesting feeling to really just imagine that I was a different person–posting my feelings in a video blog. It made it easier to feel like I was actually this new imagined person.

  • @NuageSilencieux I like that. "stage life goes a little bit faster." My method is usually to simply try and absorb some kind of personality and just live it. When acting, I forget that some part of me still needs to be aware that I AM acting. Right now, I'd like to continue working on absorbing and adopting foreign character traits, but, as I get a feel for it, I'm going to try to incorporate your suggestion.

haha it's hard to condense all the emotions and thoughts that I want to convey.

  • @ellhorn, thanks for the bit of insight. I'm currently working on this monologue, and what you said has helped me out. And @raykaz, be careful about belittling yourself and your efforts. If you've got the passion, just keep working it. :)

  • this is wonderful! you've truly got some talent. like when you are talking about your mother, it just feels so real. this whole thing seems as though it actually happened to you. it is just so natural. great job!! :)

  • Try not to launch right into the dramatics. Sammy doesn't allow people to see his inner demons. Even during this brief moment of vulnerability he is still trying to cover his sadness. If you force the audience to feel a certain way they tend to react in the opposite.

  • @ellhorn hi, thanks for taking a minute to comment. this all feels very foreign to me still, but i figured i need to put something out in public to force me to start working on things.

i dont really know the character (oops) i just found a monologue and did what i could.
