  • I am sending my t901 back. It is far too heavy to be used as tablet. Because the touch interface is not yet as good as a keyboard and trackpad I have defaulted to opening the laptop up so that I can use the keyboard: this rather defeats the purpose of the tablet. I will be trying out an ASUS EeeSlate 121. This is about 1/2 the weight yet still runs windows 7. Ipad is not an option: it is really just a content consumption device, not a content creation device.

  • Hdmi finally now all i wait for is something other than intel graphics.

  • Too. Low. Resolution. SIGH.

  • Let's just say that if they deliver on that promise of NVIDIA Optimus, the T901 will unquestionably be the first utter no-compromises Tablet PC for those with the money to spend. (And while it'll undoubtedly be expensive, prices eventually drop.)

Before, it was a matter of getting business-class build quality and a BOE Hydis AFFS+ panel while suffering with the Intel GMA, or getting dedicated ATI graphics in a more cheaply built system with a TN panel. You may compromise no longer!

  • @NamelessFragger

There certainly will be a compromise. Still stuck at 1280 wide resolution.

  • Nice, but I've heard it's expensive!

  • @jimmarn, have you seen it's specs? It's The Machine among portables!

It has mostly everything you can imagine in tablet/laptop in dimensions of portfolio and in ~2 kg of weight. The only question is about presence of Nvidia switchable graphics.

  • @DobryiBobr Fujitsu's datasheet says it has Intel HD graphics, but the ad on their main page says it uses Nvidia Optimus technology, which implies that it has a more powerful Nvidia chip as well. I am not sure what is the truth though; I guess we'll find out in February. I'm really impressed with the battery life-- 9 hours!

  • @KanjoosMakhichoos Yeah. That's what I said. :-)

  • @jimmarn It's like 2k dollars!!
