I think Starbucks sucks. I don't find anything wrong with the coffee, and sure it's pricey. Sure a lot of stuck up hipster assholes go there. What bugs me is the LINES. I cannot have Starbucks as my first cup. I have to go and get coffee to stand in line for their coffee. I'd be dead by the time I'm at the front.

2. They go for the social environment because people LIKE to interact, believe it or not. The majority of Starbucks employees are all about helping the customer. And it's the rarity that you find one like the one you encountered. Some also go for the convenience.

Honestly I don't get why they renamed the Medium Size cup into Grande if it's not Big at all.
I guess Starbucks really should think about there self image in order for more customers to come in. Personally I agree with assholepatrol coyeti. If Starbucks were to listen to other people or not, it's there decision but it will turn for the worst if they don't change their self image for the customer.
I wouldn't suspect all to agree with him but maybe just a few.

As what I do at my job, I only wish you had the chance to be in my classrooms for a few days. IMHO, you would be surprised at the love of learning you discover. I teach with a smile and provoke my kids to learn, to process, to reason and to grow. And I do not allow illogical ideas a final voice. Reason rules! LOL.

Are you saying that the only ideas you interact with are those you like or agree with? I hope this is not true of you. The greatest ideas on planet earth generally come from give and take between people who hold varying positions and ideas.
Therefore my answer to your question is, 'absolutely not; interacting with ideas you don't agree with is the way we grow, change, AND influence others.

And again the way you describe yourself (having a love of learning) is not consistent with the comments you have posted (you would rather that I simplify my vocabulary for your convenience instead of YOU working to improve your vocabulary and bring it to a higher level).
IMHO, one who loves learning would rather improve their own abilities, in this case, by improving one's own vocabulary, than they would prefer the lowering of another's standards.

Well Coyeti, My "love of Learning" isn't based off the comments I send on youtube rather it is based on my dedication to work at school and to Understand Arguments and Statements, and I have shown that I understood your statements and reread them. What more do you ask?
Yet again, I am just a Teenager so I hope you wouldn't suspect me to talk like you yet but I am one of the few in my class whom talks with proper grammar instead of using "Slang" at most times good sir.

OK, point taken. I will ratchet down my vocab here if that is what you need. But I encourage you to work a bit harder to comprehend writing that is beyond your current comfort zone. That is how we become more articulate. Words are power; the ability to communicate well is a key ingredient for success.
And I will make a commitment to you; I will tone down sarcasm and sardonic comments. Both are literary tools but they can distract from the ideas at hand.

I use words that most succinctly communicate what I wish to express. In my circles (secondary classrooms), my vocabulary is readily understood as my students are thoughtful and studied.
Stunning that a teen would invoke ignorance and illiteracy as a proud defense. Perhaps more surprising is that you apparently don't realize you have demeaned yourself.

Alright, so as for coffee shops, their name badly conveys their use. As far as I know the general idea is to go in and get a coffee and snack while you either sit down and take a break, or catch up on some work. This has changed a bit over the years, especially with the advent of the notebook computer. Sure, there is a social image, but I must admit it's getting pretty ridiculous.
Starbucks prices.. I got a bag of Starbucks beans the other day for about 20 bucks. Eight o' Clock is half that.

What exactly is an "important rant"? I'm not trying to address important social and political issues. The only social change I'm pushing for is for people to be less inhibited about their anger. That means being able to openly rant about and criticize things they hate, be they tremendously important or as insignificant as being bothered by franchise coffee houses.

My response was a reaction to the logical flaws and the cultural-economic realities of companies like Starbucks that have both identified and capitalized on market trends.

My wife and I have been very careful with the internet over the years, doing all we can to protect our kids from exposure to dangerous people, while at the same time encouraging them to become familiar with computers, the web, etc. It is a difficult tension to maintain. So I get your comments.

I have no love lost for Starbucks, but truth be told, they have excelled at both identifying a need and filling it, and at branding in such a way that they turn a market niche into a monopolized cash cow. Great video, and so true! I HATE the fact Starbucks named their small drink "tall". That's the same as that toilet paper commercial "less is more!" No, less is less! Starbucks is nothing more than a coffee flavored milkshake store. Some are tasty, but I don't feel they worth that much.
