  • The people on this comments page fall into two groups: Trolling pricks, and spammers

  • This is by far the easiest, i have ever made money on line. check out my videos of how i do it.

  • your website url doesn't work. I'm getting an error message. (and it's not my computer...it's a internal server error on your server.) just a heads up.

  • Im reading here that alot of people just don't get that this is just Chris's take on making a business from what he can do. Everybody is different. Everybody has a different way of making it work. This works for Chris. Why knock or troll him for it?

  • Guy might need to find a regular day job here soon.

  • but i think the important thing is for noobs is when you start off you need to offer free advertisements until you build up enough viewership/visitors to your pages, channels, and or sites. getting such viewers/visitors is the hard part, and keeping them interested is the next challenge.

  • so people will sit on there ass making videos anf getting money? get a real job, man

  • @Rcrby525 Define a "real job".

  • If you have an audio podcast, you will never make money from it. I have a podcast and several sponsors, and it costs me money every month to provide free content. To this day,it has been nearly a year,I have not made one cent. Grab a mic, kids. Pay to entertain people.

  • Hahahaha, start charging for your content then, your struggling by the looks of things, releasing hundreds of videos a week just to keep a float with very little views.

  • Blocking ads isn't stealing Chris. Some like a more clean viewing experience and prefer to browse the web without being pitched at constantly. It goes with the territory, some will click ads, some will block them. When you start a site and you choose to fund it with advertisements, this is a risk you take.

  • Just because some people block advertising, how is this "stealing"? Chris, you, yourself have said that you produce "free" content. So if it's "free" how is some guy stealing from you? He isn't. And trust me, not many want to be a Chris Pirillo wannabe. I'm my own guy. I'm unique. Everyone's unique. So, Chris, you can take your free videos and shove them up your ass.

  • I use Adblock and I am proud.

  • No I wouldnt rather sit on my arse Chris and have the whole world know who I am, we arent all CP wannabe's mate.

  • @blade004 ahmen!

  • It would be very interesting to know the breakdown of costs associated with products or services that Chris discusses. How much did the Hoodie company pay to have him wear that hoodie? How much did LInkedin or Modis pay to be featured? Kind of like knowing how much commercials during the SuperBowl cost.

  • Allot of social structures have their pros and cons. We gotta collect all the cons and com eup with something awesome.

    Sociapitamism.

  • Stealing free content?

  • Chris hates communists, what's up with that?

  • @jcarmack fuck communists

  • On an individual basis, it's no big deal to watch an ad or see a pop up if it supports the content creator. The problem? You're not the only content creator with advertising. If you watch 15+ videos a day, it all ads up to beyond a minor annoyance. Without ad blocking, I would not watch these videos at all. I could not stand to watch YouTube, certainly not the amount I do now.

I never click ads anyway, so what's really being lost by blocking them?

  • @pcgod8 Some ads are actually helpful. Whether its just you learning about something or them wanting you to purchase products. Ads aren't meant to take away but add to the experience hence why YouTube in my opinion is getting better at having relevant ads. Also, I easily watch over 20 vids a day and i don't have adblockers. just do something else for 15 seconds its not too much to ask to help the person making the content.

  • @b4lish That's great if you find ads that are actually helpful and you're not annoyed by them. As for me? I could count on one hand the number of ads I've seen that were helpful to me in any way. 99.9% of the time, they are completely irrelevant, regardless of whatever their algorithms say.

  • @pcgod8 Here, here... I completely agree with you.

  • You can make a fair amount of money on youtube if you have enough views per video. Atleast $2.50 per thousand views... if you get 5 digit views per video... your laughing... Some youtubers easily get a few hundred thousand views per video... they must be rolling in the cash! I'm suprised that chris doesn't really get that many views on average per video (from what i can see) on Youtube

  • When you change tv channels during the commercial, and coming back when the show restarts, are you stealing content? Many advertisers object to the DVR's ability to skip past commercials. I don't mind reasonable commercials, but monopolize the browser real estate, take over the audio, & force you to cli k on them, they become intrusive, much like commercials played at higher volume than other programing, which a federal law will hopefully end.

  • @ernestmac13 I believe federal law has already stopped loud commercials. Or state law in CT at least

  • I think a lot of this boils down to immaturity and ignorance. People that complain about advertisements for content they are consuming FOR FREE need to be responsible for a payroll and accounts payable for one day and then come back and tell me that again!

  • Ignore this msg, it's a test msg. Getting errors trying to post comments.

  • Ignore this msg. Getting error on a comment I'm trying to post. This is a test post.

  • Dream Job!!!!!

  • I click every ad, but then I return and purchase squat.

This way we dataloggers get some revenue, and i dont go broke buying angry birds plushies every time i see one. Yes they are awesome plushies

  • adblock plus

  • I use Adblock because I'm forced to watch 30 seconds ads on half the videos I watch about Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile even though I live in Norway and we don't have any of those here.

  • I agree with everything Chris has said, minus the part about those who choose to block these are essentially stealing the free content. Personally I do not block a single ad. I love ads. But if I chose to block ads on free content, how would I then be classified as stealing said free content?

    GNU-Free is Free-Ads-No-Ads.

Keep up the dream CP. Love watching your Vids

  • Its not steeling its just opting out of annoying ads

  • i would love to do what u do better than working in testco

  • Thank you Chris! That was great info.....

  • i dont mined ad i got them on my video as well

  • Does anyone know where I can download his podcast in MP3 format?

  • I respect seeing ads because I understand that the content creator (youtubers, bloggers, etc.) gets paid in that way and that the ads just help them make free or low cost product/content.

  • Didn't realize Chris had so many communist viewers.

Face it, commies. Every time your world view is implemented it leads to an authoritarian regime fighting to keep its starving population from trying desperately to escape into a "capitalist" country (or what would more accurately be described as a country whose capitalism-socialism balance isn't completely out of whack).

  • Well Chris communism is better than modern capitalism in a terms of free scholarship and in terms of making money way easier than in capitalism where only rich people have money and others not. And money won't give you freedom, it give you NWO slavery

  • @crogeek I'm sorry but that's just loser talk. Capitalism works. Everywhere there is communism and socialism that country is on fire from riots. Greece, Russia, etc. China is doing well because they allow capitalism to thrive. With a rising middle class. The US is in trouble because of lack of personal responsibility.

  • @AgentSmith31 You realise we're in a global recession right? People in Greece, Italy etc. are rioting because their government and the economy has failed. They've all lost their jobs and are rioting because someone needs to sort the shit out. Also how can you say capitalism works when it as corrupt as communism where in which the rich are still in control and living off the poor? Yes, people had taken out loans they couldn't pay back but the fact is that banks shouldn't have given the loans out.

  • @benmcm9 That doesn't mean it doesn't work. That just means people are making poor choices.

  • @AgentSmith31 WTF? - Are you TV programmed moron? - Communism doesn't exist anymore in countries which you mentioned here, secondly riots don't have anything with communism, it has with Bildenberg group and other similar masons.

  • @crogeek Did you not read my whole comment? I said socialism. And calling me a moron doesn't really help your point. It just tells me you can't back up your statements by attacking me personally. I listed those 2 countries and etc in general. I mentioned Communism and Socialism lumping in a generalization. I'm guilty of poor wording.

  • Confirmed for not understanding how communism works.

  • YouTube is decent with ads, your site seems to be good with ads and there are other sites that use ads well, and I don't block ads from sites like these

  • i don't have anything against advertisement but i gotta say that some of them are just so annoying you beg for adblocker.

  • I have no problems with sites making money from advertisements. BUT when they fill their page with more then 50% ads, or put annoying sounds, floaters that won't go away UNLESS you click on them, OR the major blinking, I'm sorry, I will either leave that site completely or I'll block those ads.

I deal with migraines and muscular issues and some of these ad types will trigger health issues with me. and I'm sorry but my health is far more important to me then some annoying ads on a website.

  • I really don't think that blocking advertisements is stealing but as for the rest, I agree with you. Advertisements are necessary to keep content fresh and for more content to be posted.

  • EVERYONE PLEASEEEEEEEEEE SUBSCRIBE TO AAHreview HE MAKES GOOD VIDS AND COULD REALLY NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!! Thank you.

  • Your videos inspire me to keep creating content for youtube, I just upload videos that I enjoy making, and people like it. I get companies emailing me to test their products with my camera, and I make free stuff out of it and I get more fun out of making the videos.
