If you look at the power of a personal home jewelry steam cleaner, they all have enough power to blow coffee or water completely out of the cup (from 30 to 45 PSI). This couldn't be anywhere close to that. Besides this whole process looks dangerous to me. For the few dollars you save, you might end up in the hospital with serious burns to the upper body. At the very least it could be a heck of a mess. Lots of things are worth trying a homemade substitute for, but not steam cleaners.
Ya beat me to the punch! I have been looking at these at the local goodwill for the same purpose. although I don't get to think I am the only one with a great money saving idea, I am glad to see that it works!
