How is JL desacretion of the comics when Bruce Timm himself is a fanatic DC fan? and how is a desacreation when he used actually comic stories in the animated series?Also if you can not acknowledge that his style is called Art Deco and when he started the BAS he used Max Fleisher's art style of the 40's Superman that countinued in SAS and JL.

Art Deco is cool and Timms art strength is definately the female form. But Art Deco and female ArtDeco is not the dominant characteristic of comic books. Comic books has a very distinctive character in it's art. This does not look like a comic book AT ALL!

The very identity of a comic book is only two-fold:The Visual, and the Personality(or writing). The Visual alredy fails miserably,as attractive as it is. The personality,the style of stories,and most importantly the behavior of the characters do not match Comic books.If we look at Suprfrnds for example,it's a match

It doesn't have to look like a comic book each artist has its own style in fact alot of people today are copying his art in fact one of my favorite writer/artist is doing that he is Mike Omeing. Read Hammer of the Gods, and Hammer of the Gods in China and then read his Ragnarok arc for The Mighty Thor from Marvel.

Um, John Stewart GL and "Santa Claus" Aquaman are/were in comic book canon. They couldn't have Robin cause he was on Teen Titans (same as the Bat-Embargo crap with "The Batman" that kept Batman villains from being on JLU). And Hawkman made an appearance in the last season.

I will add however that I respect your opinion, and it's interesting to hear from people who defend SF over JL(U). I personally like them both for what they are, and don't always buy the IT ISN'T THE COMICS bitching. The comics themselves have alternate universes and continuities, and that's what I treat the different TV shows and movies like. As long as I am entertained by them and they get the core stuff right and aren't too cheesy, then I am happy.
