did anyone get the significance of this scene?... the point was that up to here, you were led to believe that the healthier sam is the real one (the whole point of a clone falling apart after a few years, why bloody sam looked so bad, puffy cheeks, bleeding very easily from the fight (to wich the other sam comments)).... and now you have the bloody sam EASILY beating the healthy sam in pingpong AND having more experience=time spent playing it... you now think, maybe he is original, or BOTH CLns
Minor genetic abnormalities and duplication errors may have considerable effect on... I'm assuming Gerty was going to say something about the mission's success. You can't have too many angry Sam Bell clones running around.
This scene has amazing special effects without being special at all. I can't work out how they did it?
Remember that Sam Rockwell is acting on timing only and is not getting feed lines from the other role he is acting simultaneously, who is doing the same.
The way they play ping pong? The way he knocks the table and it moves, only for Sam to fix it?
The way he reacts to the bat being thrown?
Every action by one Sam is reacted to by the other.
@hitssquad Tell me how to get two of the same person, Sam Rockwell, in the same scene and (especially) interacting with each other. Duncan Jones uses a lot of special effects, but subtle ones. This movie also had a relatively tiny budget.
funny how the more experienced clone plays penholder style and offers to the new clone, who is playing kind of shakehandish, to show him how to hold the paddle right ^^
@winstonmisha People can play Table Tennis alone. Haven't you seen Forrest gump? You just lift up the other side so when you hit the ball it bounces back at you.
