For the amount of time this has left to stay on YouTube, due to Flash Theft, I will explain the Spartans Story. In the battle with te covenant Spartan II's were proved successful in combating the Covenant. As mankind was dying at a faster rate than they could produce Spartans ONI and The UNSC took the top troops they could find and Genetically manipulated them to resemble Spartans and were given armour not like normal spartans in an attempted to install fear into the Covenant.

I don't understand the whole par twith the taken as an adult. Like a shitload of these comments. spartans were no more than kids when taken. pre-teens where the highest age of when taken. but most of the time they were like 4-9 years old. Sad I know but not unless he was a spartan 1 aka orion. that survived the war for indenpendance and haad the right type of body and blood to survive the spartan II drugs. He must of been the best spartan I to get the honor of being a spartan II before John-117.

WRONG! if anyone ever read the book ,like the guy below me, then they'd know that spartans are NEVER taken after age 9! this wife and kids, kids died from it shit is a lie! sure a few candidates couldnt handle the bio augmentations, but there were no adult candidates! and thier called spartan 2's but their actually the first set. the "spartan 1's" were just people who tried o make and become super soldiers, but were never part of the spartan program. dr. halsey honered them by saying the were.

@magnumheadshot702 Your wrong, Carter A-259 was eleven when he was made a Spartan. Plenty of S-III's were over 7 years, which all S-II's were, with one even being twelve. Granted the S-III program did have a higher age standard. And about the S-I's, they WERE adults, read about Project Orion. They were normal soldiers who voluntered, but due to their survival rate and the amount of time it took to make them, they were droped. But the S-I's paved the way for the S-II and S-III.

The story is backwards in the real spartan program they took adults first in the Orion project and they died so they changed to kids because their body's were able to accept the genetic enhancement and that was when they changed the name to the spartan 2 project.

Johnson was a spartam 1, so once they realized genetic enhancement was possible they went into it hard core and created the spartan IIs. they're the best of all the spartan programs but due to the lack of children that could handle the augmentations they made spartan IIIs, not as effective but easier and cheaper to make.
