Just today I heard about the connections between Straylight, Taking Back Sunday, and Brand New. They were all legitimately my 3 favorite bands and I had no idea They all originated from TBS. I love it, and it's sad that they're not friends anymore.

i just like straylight. their first album (i avoid the issue of the second) had an amazing sound for present-day emo. plus they have the best name of any band i've ever encountered. i re-discovered their name in a novel called neuromancer (straylight run is the climactic chapter) by william gibson. it is def in the running for best sci-fi novel ever. to know that great musicians read alone with their thoughts like me is such a great thing. a bond that doesn't need ties

As far as I know Straylight Run has been around for a few years now at least. I know that the lead singer left his old band Taking Back Sunday because he wanted to do something lighter. I also think the girl in this band may be his sister. Not sure so don't quote me on that (:
