The reason that would not be a good Idea is the workload for the captain. A copilot is an amazing tool to have :) Imagine trying to fly the plane while trying to grab the Landing Procedures checklist and drink your coffee at the same time!
@the1bigace It really is not that bad. I have the 'S' rating for the Citation and as long as you have an excellent A/P, it makes the workload a lot easier. Hint, start on your approach early and set it all up. Love the video.
Do you fly right or left seat with ATP? I was looking at this program after I finish my ratings, but I never really understood what the benefit was. Do you get a type rating or is it just jet time to log?
There are many tools that pilots use to establish location, Do some research on VOR and IFR and VFR landings. Also DME instruments. Many aircraft also have GPS.

The cessna citation has low stability but has a great x axsis rotary wing, msking the turbo props easily overheat the hydrolic landing gear system, so when you fly, the auxilary engine becomes a ticking time bomb.

Ok, thank you. I'm taking it your a pilot. I've just started my training. I'm up to advanced stalls :D and I've done one session of circuits. Its been great.
What license do u need to fly a Citation CJ? Cessna's site says that it is single pilot certified, Does this mean that one pilot can fly it? If it only takes one pilot to fly it im gonna get a CJ4 if i ever get a spare nine million lying around. Screw having some won fly me around, I wanna fly it myself.
JabJab1234: My friend is a CFII qualified to train in the CJ3. No endorsement for instructional purposes is necessary.
To fly as Pilot in Command, you'd need a Type rating along with an endorsement by a check pilot.
Flying the plane was not hard at all but managing the systems is another thing all together. Landing speeds are somewhat higher but the plane was rock solid making directional control easier on approach than lighter aircraft.
I've been flying since 1988 but nothing more than 172,182 type aircraft and a great friend recently took me along in a CJ3.
We were about 15 miles from the airport and he looks over and says take it in. I said you are kidding and he said nope, just fly a good right hand pattern like you would a 182.
It was one of my best landings ever. I got to do it again a few days ago and I'm addicted now!
How are you allowed to land a CJ3 without an endorsement for that aircraft ? and you have no experience flying jets...(I'm not a pilot myself, but if you don't have the training and endorsement how could you land such a sophisticated aircraft. Maybe its all similar in the end just with more power.) I'm not trying to insult you or call you a liar I was just wondering.
Honestly, you can fly any airplane you want, but the Pilot in Command assumes responsibility at all times. Some Cessna pilots let their children land the plane, even though they aren't technically student pilots or certified. It's still the PIC's responsibility.
Wow great job..that was cool to hear him talk you through it and especially when you were right on the glide slope he says 2 red and 2 white, thats good.
What? 400K? Mostly all 2007's and newer will run no more than 260K and come fully equipped with the G1000. Anything older will run no more than 150 and up. 400K will buy you a new Cirrus SR22. do a little research next time bud.
ACTUALLY I know the actual prices for the Cessna 750 Citation X. The base price is 22 million. Thats just the body no inside, no cokpit, no engine no nothing, just the body. However if you want the actual plane your looking in for about 44 million.
44 million dollars for that plane?? That's about what's cost the Brasilian presidential plane (an Airbus A-319, all modified to be let's say, presidential).
oh fuck me and call me suzi lol. I was thinking about buying a clean used one, but it's way too expansive. I think i'll just buy me a bran new cessna 172
A brand new 172 with G1000 will run you apox. anywhere from $300,000 to $450,000, but without the G1000, you can get one for maybe $150,000 to $280,000
I'm a KSTATER, done a couple 525 trips. Work in wichita now in the Citation X sim.... a lot more of a handful. Will also be doing a lot of 650 work in the next year, good luck. KState has a great program.
