great job lads....your version is defo more upbeat than film...the song in general has that beautiful, tragic thing about it... which is so fitting....keep rockin!
Ummm...the Academy Awards and the Oscars are the same thing. "Midnight Cowboy," brilliant as it is, won only three Oscars, but they were big ones: Best Picture (Jerome Hellman), Best Director (John Schlesinger) and Best Screenplay Adaptation (Waldo Salt, from James Leo Herlihy's novel).
thanx for sharing the AcadAwds & Oscars as being the 'same thing' to my attention. and 'many awards' is an exaggeration, which i'd not correctly described in context - more of meaning collectively from many different award events (not just the Oscars.) again, thanks for the comment. (~);}
Li'l Cap'n Travis has a new CD release out titled 'Twilight On Sometimes Island' and it's a masterpiece. I pity the fool who doesn't check it out. But, really, it's a pretty nice recording. LCT at its best. Mad props to the Bubble studio and Frenchie. (~);}
Sorry, but the mic info is an ancient Chinese secret. Not. Sony EMC something. Good $100 range external mic. Doesn't clip out or distort, in my experience.
This theme song haunted me for over 30 years. After the performance, the band told me the title and explained it was the theme to Midnight Cowboy. Shortly afterwards, I rented the 1969 movie - Wow. A must see. Dustin Hoffman & Jon Voight were brilliant! The movie won many Academy Awards and Oscars. See it!
I think it's interesting it's sad for you, I find it stir up happy feelings for me. But I have you a thumbs up, because it's cool we can both see different things in it.
If a remake is ever done in the near future,Scott Caan will paly Voights role and Emile Hirsch will play Hoffmans role!

I wonder how different this might sound on a keyboard. Anyway, a moving song from a memorable movie. Nice job.

What a great rendition.
And how did not Hoffman and Voigt not win best actors? Never again did they come a million light years close to such performances.
