Just because it has high pitched sounds does not make it Chinese, this music has a heavy Pictish and Visigoth influence. They have some songs that sounds a bit chinese which would be probably because the Visigoths were in power of a small section of asia for many years and might have picked up some of their sounds.

There is a kind of Chinese light classical music that in some ways can sound quite Celtic, When I used to live in Singapore, I used to hear about this dude who played Chinese tunes using a Western pennywhistle, and he'd do Scots/Irish ones on a Chinese flute. Didn't see him though.

As for the song title, I could find out about play-roles in the chinese (Beijing) opera that are referred to in 'Chou' or 'Sheng' and other roles,so the motive of the track could as well have been taken from there.

It's funny that this song is Chinese-- It sounds so European. Even if it was at a different tempo, the notes all mostly sound pretty European. There's an Eastern influenced I guess but if somebody said it was a Medieval English dancing tune I'd have no trouble believing it.
