NOT AT ALL! but your posts are quite frankly dishonest and make no sense what so ever.. I have 2 glidecam full system. Don't have any problems and I can balance it in minutes.
Everything that you have posted points to the conclution that you can't balance this system and for that you have decided to render glidecam useless.. YET there are ton of camera operators that are using glidecam systems.. With or without the vest and arm, it works perfectly.
@aviator! Look ! on this video, even with the kid not holding the glidecam right below the center of gravety ( the gimble joint) with his left hand, he is getting great steady shooting..

Glidecam 1000, 2000, 4000 All SUCK.. They are very difficult to balance. The bearings in the gimble are cheap. The gimble does not adjust up or down on the sled post. The weights are a pain to adjust, you need to unscrew a nut off of a very long bolt to adjust the wieghts...(or should I say, washers)...LOL! Rent one first before you buy. I rented a 4000 pro and took it back the same day and demanded my money back. WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!
aviatormxpilot you have posted in almost every glidecam video... You get what you pay for, if I had 8K I would get a basic Stedicam, if I had 50K I would get the top of the line!
It just seems you have something personal against them to post the same thing in several posts.. They don't suck for the money. I have seen some people get really good shots out of a $500 product (just the HD4000, no vest or anything)
I do have a problem with all these cheap camera stabilizers. Their design a poor. I work for a major aircraft company in So Calif. as an inspector and I work closely with engineers. So I know a good product when I see one. And Glidecam is an inferior product. You can actually get as good of ahots if not better, with a mono pod or a tripod with the legs closed. You've seen my posts and should be aware why I don't like them. So I won't say anything more.
@aviatormxpilot you get what you pay for. I'm a wedding videographer and we have the 4000, yes it takes a while to learn it but we get amazing shots with it now

My new HD4000 took me 3 minutes to balance after assambly.. and with the smooth shooter that came with it, boy its a cakewalk to shoot..
