  • heard it on radio here, great song, we love it FINLAND :)

  • Haunting ---- is a good word! Just a lovely song!! :)

  • hey thats cool thats my name...lol..awesome..cimmeron

  • First heard this brilliant song played by Johnny Jason on Radio Caroline when she was bobbing up and down off the Essex coast. Great track, evokotive. The Orchestral bit at the end is awesome.

  • MERAVIGLIOSA...E MERAVIGLIOSI RICORDI...

  • Such a great song, but the pictures shown here are everybody in Poco EXCEPT the guys singing this song!! That would be Paul Cotton on lead & Timothy B Schmit on chorus & back up vocal. This line up is Paul, Tim, Rusty & George.

  • A song, that touches the soul, and gets your attention & mind thinkin'.

  • I 've liked the group, the country music and the song is fantastic.

Thanks for sharing something so good like this song.

  • Unforgetable song.

  • I used to drive my friends nuts playing this over and over on the jukebox. It is by far my favorite POCO song.... Haunting

  • Rose of Cimmaron was a lady in the 1800's who took in outlaws, fed them and treated their wounds before sending them on their way.......

  • I love the harmonies, Timothy B Shmidt of the Eagles did some of the high part, it does give me goosebumps! But what is the Rose of Cimmaron? I get an image of a wagon train for some reason, pioneers on the prairie. that can't be it though. something about something waiting at his window, watching for them to come...yes the banjo at the end is cool

  • I have heard this so many times, mostly the Emmylou version, and I still have no idea what it's about! Just love it though!

  • One of the Pioneers of country-rock. My favorite song indeed. Just makes me smile :)

  • A fantastic song from an equally strong album, which I have and listen to regularly. This is one of the few songs that hits a certain pitch that makes tears well-up in my eyes and sends 'shivers' down my spine at the same time.An eternal classic.

  • @AussiePegasus01 very good discription of what it did to me too.

check out emmylou Harris's you tube version for sheer beauty as well as audio (assuming you are male ) if not forget i posted this

  • I love this song. Rose of Cimarron is a beautiful classic!!!

  • Kudos for the best sound quality of all the versions I've had the pleasure of encountering on You Tube! IMO This is the ultimate Poco tune! So thanks catman916 for the upload and You Tube For the space!

  • great riff at the end of the song....sensational vocals..thanks for this post of this Poco classic.

  • 4:58 is so fucked up it's beyond me... wow... wow... i'm diggin' this...

  • God this takes me back so long ago.......it's still good though

  • Great track

  • oh so tender...

  • I love these guys, they, like the Outlaws, the Marshall Tucker Band, the Pure Prairie League, and the Eagles reshaped, not Rock n' Roll but Country. Country music would not be anything like it is today without these guys. For better or for worse.

  • Superb

  • One of Poco's best.... such a sweet, graceful song... Beautiful backing harmonies .... brings back great memories from college, and the late 70's.

Thanks for posting kitty-Catman! Yours has the best sound of the studio version I've heard. I've still got the LP, but don't have my turntable!

  • Magic song and magic HARD-AOR AND SOUTHERN ROCK

  • roll on, rose.

  • I first heard this song on AM radio in 1997 after dropping a GF permanently off at the airport in Australia; she was on her way to Toronto...this is the first time I've ever heard it since: THANKYOU! Wow, I can remember the drive home on the highway, the smell, the dark lights and just wow! THANKS!

  • Just love the loooong ending of this song

  • a gem thanks for post

  • i had the blessing to see them 9-28-09 they were great george grantham had a stroke on stage hes not dead he just cant perfrom but their new drummers a little off

  • @atgskater14 I saw them in September of 09, too...in Colorado. There was something magical about hearing "Colorado mountains I can hear see distant skies" in Colorado! :-)

  • @PeachWNK Oops...I meant SEE, not hear/see. ;-)

  • @PeachWNK

yeah they certainly still got it

  • Great song , Great band and the bestest and longest ending I have ever heard .

  • It sure is a long ending and reminds me of the ending of "Lilly White" Cat Steven's great song from the album, Mona Bone Jakon. Are you familiar with it?

  • No , not heard of that one , but , will go have a listen , cheers .

  • I will post it.

  • Just had a listen , good song , yep your right , another unusual long ending , but good .

  • yep greatest end I've ever seen! :-)
