what kinds of ingredients do you put in your sushi? please tell me the ingredients. i figure switzerland's lacking any saltwater seafood in it's markets, because it's a landlocked country.
It was also the first time that I've used my Canon Powershot S3 IS photo camera to record a video of this length. Used a tripod to get a steady shot in low light conditions.
I've uploaded the results only because the whole process has been much fun for us. And of course it could be a source of inspiration for anyone else around, willing to try and do something new today.
Now first things first: This is NOT an educational video, it's just an amateur home shot. And as most of you have correctly noticed, the person is not really skilled in making sushi rolls.
It was her first try ever, actually! Yes she is slow, and has no training with it, but she did quite well in the end. It all came out real nice and tasty for a first try of home made maki sushi. Next time she'll do even better! :)
she is really ham-handed... and she makes a lot of mistakes when doing it like cutting the roll from the side etc. and the cameraman could watch it better and not look around the table...
that's not sushi.. wtf.. that's just kimbab.. it's korean.. (i'm korean and i don't consider that sushi).. sushi is raw fish.. it's just sashimi with rice under it.. THATS KOREAN KIMBAB sigh..
There´s no need to roll the maki roll over and over. The important thing is to close it, leave the free 5mm line with no rice and once closed slightly press the roll in both extreems (3 fingers), and that´s it!
Another mistake is to press the rice so much. The rice has to be touched and pressed the less you can, as if you were playing the piano. Make it clean!
I make sushi all the time @ home. alot of people don't realize that it doesn't have to be raw fish all the time. It can include canned fish, and vegtables like sweet corn. Some Japanese people even add mayonaise to the corn. I know one Japanese lady who likes using canned spam in her sushi. She calls it "salty meat". And I would also like to let people know that regular white vinagar can be used instead of rice vinagar.
It's wonderful.
The sushi is food that doesn't lack it in the entertainment we for Japanese.

This is a very rich work of art. If I ate nothing all day but this...this would do very nicely. And some fresh water.
