Hi Lance, Rich and I both bought the same Bose systems. We played a live show with both poles and it was just amazing. It's nice to not have to carrry a ton of weight and sound so much better. Best regards,
I wish I could play the blues as good as you. Just wanna say that I have it on replay and it´s filling my living room with those great vibes, I tip my hat!
@bios36 Thanks Rick - Been listening to your "Beautiful Dream" it may not be blues but you're writing and playing to your strength and it's real good. Not to worry.
sounds good n crisp Lance....good to see ya picking away... yeah Bose is the stuff...11.11...see it alot lately....probably just much ado about what just wont do...
Nice rythm and sound with that steady thumb and nice tickle with the melody strings and harmony notes over it interwoven in sonically to the arrangement. Cool variations on some stuff that sounds familiar to us who have played in the blues language of acoustic blues. Thanks, for the cool little song.Enjoyed it. Tommy
@Tommy7FilmEpidodes Thank you for the close attention you are giving my videos. Watching your featured video now. One year later II. Your sequencing is good. I'm not real sharp when it comes to that area. You seem to have a good handle on it. Thanks for the sub. I'll try to keep it interesting. Subbed back.
This song reminds me of the 1920s Mississippi John Hurt recordings. I don't know if he's one of your influences or not but it's a beautiful sound. Thanks for uploading:)
@Agalois You know, he is an influence but from so many years ago I wasn't thinking of him when I wrote this. But the comparison is a really nice one. Funny how much of what we do goes back to the great roots musicians. Thanks for the great comment.
Welcome back Lance! You need not make apologies for taking a little time off.
This YouTube thing is for YOUR enjoyment, not for everybody elses.
That said, I've enjoyed all the videos that you've been kind enough to share, and I have to resolve to do more posts this coming year now that life is hopefully going to be less chaotic in the next year(probably just wishful thinking)
@kokoro86 Hey Marc. I like that perspective. One can lose sight of the fact that you're supposed to be having fun. That's when it's time to take a break. Thanks for your warm comment. Looking forward to you postings.
@daviemcf Well, there's pickin' and then there's pickin' like that young jazz player I sent you. If I didn't send you the one of him with Martin Taylor look for it. Thanks for the support.
Glad to see ya back in fine form, Lance, so don't go away again.....that just won't do. By the way, you got a name for that new PA system? I'm thinking it's probably a feminine kinda name since you were stroking it rather lovingly......
@bigbeninjax You are a good man and a kind one my friend. I appreciate the warm welcome back. Please look at my comments to jazzguts and carvetop01 for where I'm at these days. Thanks Ben.
@carvetop01 See comment to Victor below Allen. Been giving a lot of thought to the fact that my strength lies in songwriting. I can study more advanced music but the main thing is to keep the songwriting at the top of my game. Guitar Poet... I like that. Thanks
A sabbatical works miracles and very good for the creativity process. It's easy to step into that trap of constantly trying to entertain a YT digital audience without thinking if every Video is really worthwhile posting. I've been doing a bit of thinking about this whole process myself, and have come to the conclusion in the future"less is More"let's go for quality Lance that's the best. Very nice playing and writing, that Bose PA is sounding very good indeed,Vic (greetings from Espana Amigo).
@Jazzguts Last night went to an outdoor concert here in Chicago (3,000 people but we were in row 5) It was a tribute to Django R. and the best guitarists in the gypsy genre in Chicago were there. Indescribably good Victor. Seeing these musicians I am quick to say "I am a little bit of a musician but for all intents and purposes I am first and foremost a songwriter." I will never quit studying but, as the old zen saying goes, "It is easier to ride the horse in the direction it is going." Quality!
@archtopbrownie Darn right about that Lance, and I must say you're writing some very nice tunes, it's always great to know ones personal qualities, saludos desde Espana,Vic.
@dennise7star Hey, Altec Lansing makes very good stuff. One of the features of this Bose however is that the whole system and a guitar can be moved in one trip from the car.... and set up in about 4 minutes. That was an equally big selling point to the sound. Thanks for giving a listen Dennise. I'll try to keep things interesting.
@Cameragirl803 Jane I looked and couldn't believe that you are not on my friends list. Sent out an invite. Please accept and accept my apology for the oversight. The featured video on your site reminds me a bit of the "If I Had a Nickel" I sent you. (If I didn't send I will) Thanks.
ya gots to spurge sometimes, both with sumpin' new, and with time off and a get away.......everybody's got ta ! sounds great, Lance! was a super sweet sound allright!
really plunky low notes, ----great songwriting, love it!
Your not kidding it is worth the investment it sounds like it's up there on top of the hill, did I forget toremark that it's really nice to see you back, you little skalliwag you lol, I want you to post the one about the devil having taken over you tube ,or what ever it was,I remember how much I liked the fun on that song, it showed me you that you had a great and keen sense of humor. Sooo True.
@beachfrontal I remember that song. If I recall Mr. Schmirnoff had a lot to do with the writing of that one. I won't post it again because I'm trying to drive some potential clients to my site that might find it a little too salty. But you can find it in my uploads. Thanks David you young whippersnapper.
Welcome back, Lance, great new original. Bose is good, I know. In our band we used 2 Bose bass-boxes (very hard to carry) and a lot of little boxes. I´m no specialist in technique, I just knew what cable to plug in,haha. Sound was good, and here you also have a nice sound. For the voice I would turn the treble a bit less, but that´s just an idea.
@LONGWINDING Thanks Frank. I think you're right about the treble. I'll have to address that in the next one. Love the Bose and I look forward to resuming our relationship. Your opinions, playing and composing are always welcome.
@grannyrock10 Thanks - I try to do songs people can relate to. Some say I take them places they might not like to go but hey, we must be fearless right. Thanks for taking the time to drop me a line.
Hey Lance. a triumphant return man. likin the pa. used one once at a little songwriters gig, really cool sound but i think the audience thought the speaker tower was the most interesting thing onstage....lol... great song, very groovy picking. thumbs up . Gav.
@zneella Aahh Gavin. So great to hear from you. Not back in the swing yet but will try to get up to speed soon. No covers from now on. Don't want to flirt with disaster coming from youtubes new corporate preferences. They're using any excuse to dump artists that compete with the big business guys that line their pockets to keep Lady GaGa and the like out there sucking up all the good air space.... don't get me started. Anyway, we'll be in touch ... and thanks again.
